That's an awful thing to have happened. It sounds like he's doing better. I heard of a few other famous artists who collapsed on stage. I believe Freddie King (my all time favorite guitarist) had a heart attack on stage and never was revived. One time at a gig I was coughing up blood but made it to the end of the gig. It was a two day gig and unfortunately I never made it the next day. It's a horrible thing to be sick at a gig, worse yet to almost die. I guess if you're going to die it may as well be doing something you love...

This summer a local band was opening for Blue Oyster Cult here in Detroit. The guitar player collapsed and died onstage; everyone thought it was part of the act.

That's really sad, hope he'll do ok. Used to cover his songs with a few bands way back when.

We still do a cover of "Some Girls Are Bigger Than Others". The Smiths were one of the best bands of the 80's.
