What's the best method for demo's?

I wnat to record a demo but, here in Northern New York, we don't have any studios; I have tryed analog myself and it isn't anything to brag about; What's my next option?

Music recording programs... ACID, Music maker, Reason , Cubase, Cakewalk, Acoustica Mixcraft, Audacity, Sonar, and Kristal. There are a lot of recording pros and some are even free. If you have a computer ...mixer and mic input or really good sound card...like M-audio, E-mu, or RME you can really get some good results. Build your own little studio. If it takes time and money don't get discouraged...your music is important.

Just wondering if or how I can combine my powered head with the computer's mic input. Should I use:
A: the powered main output
B: the passive monitor out
C: the RCA record out
AND... Will any of these options work as an interface for Cubase? I have a copy of Cubase SE, but I haven't installed it yet because I have no firewire.
