Hey Everyone,
I just uploaded three new songs I wrote recently onto my page and was wondering if anyone had time to give me a little feedback? I'm not trying to promote my self or anything (ha ha) I really just don't know many people I can show my music to for feedback. They are the first three acoustic tracks on my page: Sunshine, Dear Jane, and If There Was A Way... I had to record quietly but will re-record them when I can play loudly and sing in full voice... Well, if anyone decides to listen and comment I'll really appreciate it!

Thanks,
Seth

Seth,
I liked em. I'm definitely picking up your Beatles influence. And I love the Beatles, so that's a good thing. LOL
I'd like to hear what's going on in your head for accompaniment. Any prospects for a band? They are a little similar at times, but the arrangements that would come from other parts would solve that.
What about multi-tracking with Audacity for that? Until you get a full band going. The track is clear, and it would be easy to multi-track it on Audacity, which is free.
Anyway, keep up the good work.

Hey thanks, CraigMaxim!
Yeah I've got down how the accompaniment will sound in my head which will definitely make them sound more different from each other. Unfortunately I don't have any prospects for a band right now... Hopefully I'll get people together soon!
I actually recorded those songs with Audacity. I'm still trying to figure it all out but it's awesome.. I can't believe it took me so long to find that program! I tried adding a track with tambourine just to mess around with it and for some reason the timing went off halfway through the track... no idea why ha ha.
Anyway, thanks for the feedback!

Hey Seth,
I like what you are doing, sounds like you have decent vocal skills, your guitar sounds a little choppy. I think part of it is that you are singing and playing at the same time in the recording (? live recording, single track?) Your tempo speeds up and slows down with adjacent guitar 'flubs', so in short, you need to work on the singing and playing with a metronome.
As far as recording, I'd recommend splitting the guitar and vocals and use a click track, the difference will be amazing, you will probably also find that you will need to increase the tempo because the "flow" will seem slower when the tempo is regulated.

Kramerguy,
You're right I was singing and playing at the same time on one track. I noticed the tempo going off when I listened to them after recording. I'm definitely going to record them again with Audacity using your suggestions... Definitely sing and play on different tracks using a click track. And I'm definitely going to practice singing and playing together with a metronome. Thanks for the comments - they're really going to help!

nothing to be ashamed about asking for folks to listen and promoting yourself... that's what this site is for if I'm not mistaken.
sunshine... reminds me of something I'd see on napolean dynamyte... I love that soundtrack... 'I can tell that we are gonna be friends'!
you don't know me... love it's vintage sound.

Mistermikev,
Thanks for the comments! That's funny about the Napoleon Dynamite soundtrack! I've never heard it but I'll have to get a hold of a copy.

Kramerguy,
Thanks for the encouragement - I've already been practicing with a metronome and you're right about having to increase the tempo! And I'm really glad you like "Sunshine" - that means a lot!
#1collaborator,
You're absolutely right about getting good help here - and thanks for the cool words!
