All the mechanical technical wizzardry of shredding is meaningless if you can't make people feel some emotion. So what, you can do (or not) an "impossible" guitar solo in the privacy of your room. What are you trying to accomplish with it? Are people going to buy your CD after viewing this Youtube video? Are they going to flock to your next gig after viewing this? Can you HOLD a crowd at a gig if you play like this all night? This is drivel IMO. Get a copy of Junior Wells' album Junior On Tap and listen to Sammy Lawhorn's guitar solo on Key To the Highway. Now THAT'S a guitar solo. It makes you FEEL something. What you're doing here is simply an exercise. I feel nothing after listening to it. Sorry...
Sean, I dunno how to put it, other than to say that the scale exercizes get old quickly for most ppl. Try some Gilmour or Jeff Beck. Your single-minded continuation of endless vids showing the same basic lack of style isn't gonna get better with time, no matter how determined you may be to impress with it. We look for substance, & you aren't delivering yet.
You need to open your mind a bit. That would also help you to find ppl to play with. If you came to my audition with this, & I said it ain't for me, would you continue to play the same way until I "got it?"
It still ain't for me. I can't play that stuff, & I wouldn't really care to. But, as Colors so aptly put it, perhaps your friends like it. I'm sure it will also go over well with teenage boys who play Guitar Hero. We, for the most part, are musicians & singers & song writers, however, & since your 1st vid, it was obvious that we are looking for something else from a musician than the finger exercizes.
There are a gazillion guitarists out there who don't do this stuff. That doesn't mean that they can't. It means that they're reaching out farther for melodies rather than going for simple effect & speed. Your stuff is like a bad movie that has great CGI. Flashy, but without a skeletal structure. There is more to melody than a cool chord structure, & you need to keep looking until you find it.
Until you do, you will prolly continue to be panned...

SMILE - it's the safest way to spread your cheeks!
hmm, you pick with your middle finger and thumb? Trip. I think of the videos that I watched of yours, the one I liked the best was you and the drummer just loosely jamming without all the EVH horsie screams.

It seems like in the rest of your videos, you're not really trying to play music. It's more like you're setting your fingers on auto-pilot in vibrate mode and moving your hands up and down the neck without much attention to whether you're in any particular key. Kind of a Sean Lane maneuver, except you can't hear distinct notes in any particular progression.
I'd like to see you take your Rodeo song (link above) and really develop that with a solo section that focuses more on bending strings than trying to shred as many notes per bpm as possible. You seem talented enough to do it. I think that would be sweet.

The more I practice, the more time I wish I had to practice
