Miggie I went back and listened to your song a couple more times.
Overall I thought it was quite good, but still a demo.
There is this word in songwriter language called PROSIDY,[poetry and melody]. amazing singers can violate and step all over this to make the worst lyrics sound great and vice versa.
I just don't think you gave yourself enough time to learn how to interpret your own lyrics, very important. also be careful of EE EE EE. It works sometimes, but maybe EEeeEEeeEEee might be more effective.
It's not your voice, thats great, it's just hard to get the right interpretation to make the song come across. It will come to you.
There are hundreds of songs that wouldn't have made it unless the perfect fit was made,Carley Simon comes to mind,Tremendous writer, singer, etc, BUT I like the way some of her songs were done by other artists more than when she does them.

Sorry about Chippy, he doesn't usually get involved in wars like that. That is why I'm trying to keep him to the topics of music.I'm pretty sure he wasn't trying to steal your thread on " UNITED STATES" , but if I posted this there I doubt you wanted to see any more.

Keep writing and singing Miggie, good stuff , only way to get better. :)

I like how you titled the post "after the war" Thanks for starting a new thread! The last one ended up all messy  I didnt write "Valarie", its a song by Amy Winehouse, I wish I would have wrote it. But I will admit I recorded the song in literally 30 min lol I was in a rush to get somethin up there. Not the smartest move in the least bit! But im working on recording a bunch of originals ive written over the years right now, I just got finished with one Tuesday and I would love to post it but I just want to make sure its perfect befor I do. Umm, I also took like 3 bong hits befor I sang Valarie lol Im young and learning  :P Your right about the EEEEE's hehe, Oh and I dont think chippy ment anything but good. Hes awesome in my book :) Thanks for the extra support I needed it :D . Im "in between bands" and have a few auditions coming up in Oct so well see what the music gods have planned for miggs!

Just meant some positive support. One of my friends from England has a song in the top three John Lennon song contest, I just hope any support I gave her helped.
I guess I place to much value on being your self, and I think that is where you are at.
I would love to hear your songs.

Wonder if Ms. Winehouse would be interested in this critique?

Miggie, if you were closer to TN, I could probably get you in a few of our shows.

I like your voice but more importantly I like your sense of humor in dealing with the negative distractions that go along with posting on these open forums. That will serve you well in this game.

Good Luck in your musical endeavers and life in general.

Looking forward to your next song, Miggie. It better be perfect.

You could get any number of ppl in almost any area to build a band around your voice & personality. If you work a stage as well as you work the forum, I'll bet you do a great job fronting the band.
