....With the ford festiva?
Watch my buddy with a 1.8 turbo reel in this built foxbody from this past weekend...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHiJERhf_0w

This is ONE of the other reasons I love my festivas...
300,000 is the AVERAGE

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Oz_Yto_-PMs

Stock they get gas mileage in the 50's!

Sorry, I know it's way of topic but my order of who I am is...
Christian, husband, father, singer/songwriter/musician, festiva nut!

I am driving my 19th now!! I've owned 19. Only 7 were drivers for me. Many were turned, parted, and a couple wrecked. Most are still on the road.

My dd. That's daily driver for you normal folks who don't care about cars. This one is stock for now. I paid $500 for it. My other 2 festivas represent a profit and both have the same engine (not YET turbo) as the fast one in the first vid.

Paul - it always amazes me when I see one of these things on the road. It's one of the original "smart cars," ain't it? I sure wouldn't wanna get in a wreck with one, though!

Cute, in that fuggly way the Gremlin was cute.

Of course, I can't really talk. I drive an '87 Dodge Ram 50 that looks like it was painted with a roller! Gets me around, though.

I had no idea that the Festive could get that kinda mileage, though.

I've always been partial to Fords. My 1st car was a '68 Fairlane with a 289.

Yep, and my fix puts money into my pocket. Unlike vettes, harleys, wrx's golf, Paul Reed Smith guitars, etc etc etc

And it sure did hurt this gto's feelings and this Chevelle's too

One guy on the forum (9000 members! ) calls it the smarter car. WAY more interior room, way better MPG, same 0-60. The smarter is just safer. Of course I have seen festivas rolled and driven home. That's because it's a a cube and a unibody. On the interstate even. They are only bad in side impact tests. I've seen them wreck an 80's ltd and get only a scratch. That was when the LTD rear ended the festiva square in the rear.

The festiva is actually all Mazda parts and design, assembled by KIA in Korea. Much like your D-50 is a Mitsubishi.

what's really cool is how reviled they are by normal folks. That's how I can buy a car for $500 and 200,000 miles out of it on top of the 100,000 it already has. That story is common. The norm even!

Yes I wrote a rippin' fast blues rock song about the festiva. Supposed to get inthe studio asap to get it down. Just need a little more $. 8)

For real they are huge inside. If you need to get a lazy boy or a washing machine moved we can't take your taurus or even your caprice. We have to take my big car. Done that by the way WITH the hatch closed. If it's raining we can't take your truck either. But the festiva can do it.

It also has a stock top speed of 113 radar certified. Not kidding.

I've been obsessed since '91.

Check out MY video of what I got in it. A full size motorcycle!!....

I've seen the car-flip one in another thread. The Festiva is pretty tall inside. It's like a mini-station wagon, pretty impressive all around. Much better than these things : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Smart_(automobile)

Amusingly, there's a smart-car in my company's building parking lot and every time I pass it I have this urge to flip it over. It's just not right.
