My Juvenile Advocacy Group having an effect!

I mentioned awhile back that I had formed a Juvenile Advocacy Group called P.A.W.S. (Parents Against Wrongful Sentencing) because my wife's two boys have been going through the juvenile system after making a serious mistake.
Reporting your own child (or step-children) to the authorities is a horrendously difficult decision to have to make. But after going to court with them, and then going through the juvenile process and learning firsthand about it's inefficiencies and problems, expecially the fact that juveniles are generally treated more harshly than adult offenders (believe it or not, this is true) it opened my eyes to the needs for reform.
So, not only for my own step-sons, but for all the other parents going through this grievous situation as well, I formed a Juvenile Advocacy Group to bring helpful information to parents, and teach them what I have learned, and also to bring pressure on State Representatives to enact reforms.
Several months ago, I had contacted the Governor's office to report crimes by guards of one facility of which I had been made aware. This lead to a major investigation of the facility in question, and probably aided in it's recent closure.
I wrote an editorial on this HERE:
