Tainted Lead

Hey, Glenn (GONGHEAD), and all here, I put just the section with my lead on "Tainted Love" (my original, not the Gloria Jones one redone by Marilyn Manson) on my profile here. Told you about it on the "Where's the comedy" thread, but Sans said it was "buried" so I'm putting it on a new thread. Let me know how ya like it (or not). :)

Sounds great rat. It has a Molly Hatchet feel to it. 8)

Thanks, J. Molly was definitely one of my early influences. I have seen the original MH a couple of times, set up a sound system (mine plus two other local bands PA rolled into one big one) for a gig at a local bar (the only original member was Danny Joe Brown but they still kicked butt) and was one of 4 local bands that got to play a big outdoor festival with them and Pat Travers. Don't listen to them much anymore, as I've lost track of all the albums they've done (and they've done a bunch), but still get a little pick me up when I hear some of their older tunes.

I was pulling into Wal-mart yesterday and heard Flirtin With Disaster. That made me crank up the stereo roll down my windows and let my mullet blow in the wind (picture Joe Dirt here) just like the good ole days down here in the South.

Well Mr. You are coming in from the woods aren't you!
There are some missing fills in there on drums. They seem static. Was this a drum machine or guest?

This is the second time this week something musical on here has excited me.
Well done Rat!

Well, Chippy, since it was just a cut from the song, it was drums just straight through, and the rest of the song has more fills and stuff. And it was a guest drummer, and though I wrote the song using a machine, we did this take with just drums and rhythm guitar and no click track. Glad you got (musically) excited. :)

Chippy, I'm sure you'd be a blast to have as a drummer.

Nice solo, there's a Steely Dan tune whose name escapes me at the moment that that solo brings to mind, tone, and playing wise

I don't mind at all being compared to Steely Dan. :)
And coming from someone who nailed that "All Along the Watchtower" solo, I feel even better. :)
Thanks, man.
