Cause technically I'm there, but where is this house? I need a place to move to, any everything in my area is out of our price range.

And the few that are close?.. well they wont take us because our credit is now wrecked by defaulted medical bills.... because "full coverage" insurance that I pay HUGE premiums for can't even cover the basics. sigh.

we're effed. that old saying about picking yourself up? heh. outdated. For every 100 people who end up in financial ruin today, 99 of them will probably never find a way out.

I remember feeling that way a lot over the last 32 years my wife and I have been together. My business has been off 40 % this year and it seems we are getting further behind and a lot of people aren't paying their bills. But every time I consider how bad times are I think back to some of the real challenges I have been thru and realize that I was able to pull that off then the new problem is just another bump in the road. I wasn't born rich and can only hope one day I can hit it big with a power ball red neck retirement ticket so Ill waste a dollar or two for that hopeful feeling you get as the prizes hit 100 mill. But till then I just keep plugging away at one hell of a bumpy road. We recently wrote a song called "tomorrow always comes "and in it we suggest your karma's on its way. Ill keep you in my thoughts and send all the good vibrations I can and hope the light on the other end of your tunnel gets brighter. Hopefully you can write a hit song about it and find yourself in a better position. I keep hoping

yeah, I'm just venting.. the cost of living just keeps going up and up, and we've been priced out of our own home. Our apartment rent has risen almost 50% in the 7 years we've lived here, and just can't afford to stay, and it's a craphole that was never really worth the original rent. yet they take bad credit peeps, so we feel stuck and screwed. Not to mention that a lot of bad credit peeps are criminals and we're surrounded by nasty people anymore.

But yeah.. venting.. just wish there was something more than a powerball ticket to hang hope onto ...

we've been slashing our budget for the last year now.. to the point that there's nothing left to cut. Last month I defaulted on a medical loan... just had no choice.. I tried to re-negotiate the interest on the loan and they told me to go pound sand.. heh

I feel for ya. Most of us are just one layoff, medical crisis or other unexpected expense from losing it all. I weathered the last storm (laid off for six months) and somehow hung onto my house. The main thing is to keep working - if possible both you and the wife. I wish you luck.

I will offer prayers to go along with the aforementioned Karma.
I too am struggling finacially at present, much of my own doing.
Though while at our Pastor's funeral service yesterday. I had to reflect on how my lifestrife really aint all that.
When I have to ignore those collection calls, and work those dreaded night shifts. I try to focus on those things that are so richly positive in my life.
If money could buy happiness, all those rich folk I end up providing care for in the hospital, would not have needed those two or three different anti depressants / anxiolytics they have been addicted two for twenty years.

Hang in there Kramer!

The financial atrocity has been in my world at least a great leveler. I've been here for some time but so far I've survived. Largely down to my good wife and a determined nature. It doesn't mean however that cardboard boxes and a wine bottle are far away.

21 yes 21 houses for sale or for rent in just 8 miles on one major road near me tell a story.

It's ok saying 'hang in there', words are crap at this point.

My advice..... and its good advice. Is not to stare into the pool too long. It will suck you in and before long your world will take a very different shape.

Hang in there yes. Go think about better things and TRY to laugh a little is the BEST advice I can give, I cannot do anything other. If I could you could bet your bottom dollar that I would DO.

A few posts back you were thinking of touring a bit. I hope you come to Carolina soon as we would love to see your show. Just when I think I have it bad I look at my neighbors whos problems dwarf my own. At least I can go beat up one of my guitars for sanity's sake. Look for that song man. Its a better shot than the powerball ticket.

I'm there myself. I work in operations at a major health insurance company, and the best plan they offer to the employees has a $1250/member deductible before any benefit kicks in! My wife has had a rough year, medically speaking. She has lupus, fibromyalgia, degenerative disk disease, and chronic pain that no one can seem to find the cause of.

I'm anxious to see what Obama and our state representatives in the House and Senate are working on for health care reform to give us all a break. I know that's another thread -- I'm just saying...

Anyway, I'm sending positive thoughts your way. Maybe some of that positive Karma will come see us both!

Hey Kramer, So sorry to hear about your misfortune. I will remember to appreciate what I have because there will always be someone who is worse off. Well, I'm not looking for handouts (yet lol), just venting for this week. I hate those weeks where two days before payday, I got 1/8 tank of gas, no cash, empty fridge, etc.. and bill collectors callin.. pftt!!!

got paid today, lookin to try and hide a hundred under the mattress

I guess that's one good thing about living where I do. There are still local business where, if I needed to, I could charge gas or groceries by just signing a ticket. Haven't had to yet, but it's still a comforting thought knowing that I could. Of course, with my luck, if I ever need to it will be the day after they change their policy because people aren't paying their accounts.

Finally a little break through for Clan Heil.
I have got an interview with another ofthe local hospitals.
They dont traditionally pay as much as where I am now but its probably 15 miles closer to home.
Dont know of course, how it will work out, but perhaps a little of that good karma will rub off on Keith.
