I propose a new law-

250mil americans should march on washington and demand it be written and enacted effective immediately:

All congressional Senators, House Members, employees, aides, and any other persons involved directly or indirectly with congressional activities shall not accept any funding, campaign contributions gifts, dinners, vacations, travel arrangements, or other general or monetary compensation from any agency, office, company, or corporation, outside of the justice department, who is responsible for managing the taxpayer funding all congressional costs. The justice department is also responsible for assigning at least 2 judicial agents and one tax/financial agent per congressperson to provide oversight, and investigate any and all spending and income, inside and outside of their office.

The treasury department is to oversee that the justice department is properly doing it's job from the financial perspective and provide all funding necessary to fund congress.

All campaigns are to be public funding only for any candidates who wish to run and obtain party endorsement. Candidates cannot trade or share funding amongst themselves or their comrades. Any unused funds must be returned to the public funds. The oversight is the same as congresses.

Any elected official or emoloyee of an elected official who is caught and proven to be accepting other funding, bribes, donations, or favors shall be tried for treason, and if convicted, shot dead.

Write that into law, motherfuckers!

Eh...I quite like the guillotine idea, myself. Much more humane, yet oh so visually compelling, both from the perspective of the viewer AND the evil-doer!

Yeah, something needs to be done on this subject, Kramer, but I don't see it happening anytime soon, esp since those responsible for writing that law are the very same ones who benefit so much from the "gifts" (read "BRIBES").

This would go a long way to put the US goverment back in the hands of the people ... instead of Corp USA, as it is now. Although it would take sometime to deprogram all the people that have been brainwashed over the last 25 yrs by Corp USA. The fear and rhetoric (propaganda bought & paid for by Corp USA) is reaching new heights .... a lady on CNN, in tears & sobing because her school kids might have to listen to Obama's back to school speech ... and she has not idea what is in the speech ... that to me is runaway fear. It seams like there is not free thinking anymore

Well, ya know, Prev, that when the gov't gets involves in your schooling, it's a sign of "socialism."

Oh, WAIT! Our gov't IS involved in our schools! OMG! It's a runaway train of doomness!

How can a friendly reminder message to "stay in school" be construed as "yet another socialist plot?" Watch Fox News, & you'll see how!

Some ppl much preferred our former pres, who reminded our kids that school can't be all that if a C student can be pres, so why should they try so hard to do well?!!!!!

I almost forgot, once a public servant, ALWAYS a public servant. Once resigned or replaced (by voters), all public officials must either retire (if of age), or take a job in a different department, and it must be a job that has no influence directly or indirectly with policy... so it's acceptable for them to sweep the floors at the FDC, but not actually work as an inspector

But they can keep their congress person pay, as a good faith gesture.

I agree about that 'anything that strays from the status-quo' hysteria is corporate designed brain-washing. Things are getting wacky. This whole showing up with guns at town hall meetings and "intimidating" people is scary. I read a really scary article, think I even posted it here, about facism - something like "10 historical steps it takes to get to facism" based on the chain of events in every country that has turned facist in history...

the scary part was that the USA, today, was almost at the end of step 8.

Step 9 was the point of no return. No country had ever been able to stop it by that time.

Scary times.

Our governement is ALL ABOUT money and who controls it. Look at the number of recent Presidents who are lawyers. Look at the high percentage of FILTHY rich senators, congressmen, etc. It's ALL ABOUT money honey. Who has us all by the testicles and WON'T LET GO? Kramerguys idealism is commendable. I agree wholefartedly. BUT nothing changes without removing the grip on our family jewels. We don't need a guillotine to chop heads off, we need a smaller version of one to chop hands and fingers off, those hands and fingers that are turning my balls blue.
