I've met & chatted with a cpl ppl here, but haven't found that band or guitarist I need.
Sans has. Others have, too.
This ain't the bestest way to find ppl, though it's ONE way. I like open mics cuz you get to hear your targeted ppl in person, & see how they interact & such. I mean, even if you meet someone who seems perfect, here, there are more steps to go through until you actually hook up than there are with the face-to-face meets.

Tru dat. I need to start hitting some of the local open mics. I'm so far out of that loop that I'll have to do some looking!

I've gotten 4 requests since being here. None of them were bad at all. I think the engine that BM uses for local searches is by far the best I've come upon.

We built our band through Bandmix utilising the search function daily over the period of several months.
Short answer YES

I've been hit up by 3 bands in the last few months. But they are all in Georgia... (Although a band in Maryland was soliciting me too, but through MySpace) But that reminds me... Need to go change my profile to Jacksonville, Florida! Be driving there tonight or tomorrow morning!
WOOHOO!!!

Our current guitarist (aguitarsupreme) Michael Emanuel is from Bandmix. Last Summer we hooked up briefly with another guitarist from Bandmix. Our previous keyboard/harmonica player was on Bandmix but I've known him for many years previous to Bandmix. I can't get my drummer to do anything on the internet. I've also received numerous inquiries from other Bandmix members. I'd say I'm satisfied with the results.
