Oh dear...um...there have been a lot of convos on this one...I was hoping that someone else would take this one...

Are you talking about that program full of sampled bits you string together to "create" stuff?

If so, go here =

Yeah, we don't like garageband, unless you're actually practicing something on an instrument over it. That, imho, is about all it's good for - PRACTICE - not to be used in a live setting or a recording session. If you need to loop stuff, do it like Neanderpaul, by recording your own playing & then loop it. If you need samples, create them where you can, & for heaven's sake play every note, or at least write it out so someone else can play it for you.

It is an effective multi track recording program. It's only legit if you record all the parts yourself. Macs are the real deal if you can afford it.

LOL, sans! I wouldn't exactly call it "tact." After all, all I did was refer the guy to all the lengthy posts that weren't so "tactful" in the past on the subject.

I DID save myself a lot of typeration on the hated subject, though!

heh heh heh

I prolly shouldn't have used the editorial "we," though. I obviously don't speak for all BM-ers with my aversion to the use of these things.
