Thanks Sans, Are you drinking coffee while you are listening to it? Just as a reminder...the guy with me in my profile pic is who composed this piece. His artistry can also be heard in the recent Purina One commercials. I just wanted to create a flute choir piece as a tribute to this hunka talent.
I am playing all of the flute parts. The flute solo is improvised but in the sheet music the solo will be written out but the option to improvise will be left up to the artist.

I liked it. I thought the production was great. It sounded way better than I anticipated. I really liked the melodies, the use of the strings and the harp; and the flute playing was fabulous. The main melody you've come up with is great. Reminiscent of Enya without feeling like a copycat.

My critique would be: it was too long. And this is coming from a guy who *loves* long pieces. I'm a Dream Theater fan; love the 12-minute "Learning to Live", love the 44-minute epic "Six Degrees of Inner Turbulence", love the 19-minute epic of the latest album, "The Count of Tuscany". I love length.

But it's got to feel like it goes somewhere, if it's going to be long. It can't feel repetitive.

If it were me, I would have shortened the song. At the 4:00 mark when you cut loose for a bit, I would have had that happen a lot sooner, around the 2:00 mark, shooting for a 4:00 piece. The 5:00 mark sounds like the song is ending, but it's not... Goes on for another minute.

The melodies are great. But it just feels like too much of them for too long.

Ugh, it stings to hear you say that yet thanks for saying that. Although it is the final recording, it isn't the final product. It ended up going too long for various reasons I worked around. It will be easy to trim down. Orignally it was less than 5 minutes.
Now, that being said the next goal is to print out the score and I want to soften or even lose the french horn part.

Thanks Colors

You certainly know how to get a man's attention, m'lady!

LOVE IT, for the most part. It is just a tad long, but when it's this pretty, even that aint all bad.

Great mix. Love the flute choir. it really comes through on this one.

It's a work to be proud of, for sure. I'm only sorry that Irminsul isn't here to hear this. He'd like it, too. (He's a harpist of the highest order.) I doubt you had the chance to meet him.

Well done & I want more, so go get busy!!!!

Please?
