Not in any particular order, but Mike Gentry, cuz he's tasty & great; JW cuz he's such an inventive guy both in music & marketing; Craig cuz he's good & won't quit; Neanderpaul cuz he's unique, talented & fun; Shredd cuz he's versatile & an all around good musician...others worthy of mention are Pocket Grooves, cuz let's face it - he's great; mikev if he'd get out of his basement; RM for his personal style; jimmydanger for persistance & ability; & bob cuz he's the best blues guy we got; & Prevost cuz he's just amazing. I'd make the list if & when I get my sh*t back together & quit being so askeered all the time, cuz it looks like I'm coming back in spite of myself...I just know I left a lot of ppl out, & I hate these type of threads cuzza that...but I think that most of us on here are pretty damned good, & with the right opportunity any of us could "make it"

Phil,

You're a talented guy. A long while back when you mentioned playing a room for... was it 5 hours? BY YOURSELF? That's impressive. It's hard to hold a room's attention for 5 straight hours, and have enough material to do it by yourself!

Thats a tough choice from amoung some very talented musos.
I am going to cop out on this question, I mean I really have no way of knowing the market size that is being reached by many of these guys.
Or if they even have any intent to "make it".
Shredd6 is an awsome musician apparently, and in what would appear to be a fairly big market. But is reggae as universally accepted as say the music performed by Mike or Jimmy. The time is right in the political spectrum to take a song like FREEDOM, and throw Craig into national lime light. Paul also is reaching a lot of ears with his talents and marketing strategy. Hayden, and Alan have their own unique styles going for them. John and Kerry there is just no telling what may spark for these guys as good and dedicated as they are. And Mary, gee that music she has posted recently was simply beautifull. Big market for stuff like that.
A far as I am concerned I have already "made it".
I am doing something I love, with people I love, in my own chosen mission. Sure it be nice if it paid enough where that was all we had to do, but I dont think that is what God has in store for me.

Exactly George. I never aspired to anything more than producing music I enjoy and playing live occasionally. So in that sense I "made it" many years ago. But others would argue that unless it's paying your bills you haven't tasted success. It depends on your motivation.

I cant agree with any reply more than Georges. There are way to many good ones here to try and pull 5 out. I spend a lot of time lately pulling up profiles and checking out what the other guys posting music and videos are doing and a lot of it is really impressive. Then again the guys posting to the forum here have some really good stuff going on also. And some of my favs are Phils songs , I think he attacks the bass lines in his music the same way I like it done in my songs. I like the ones like Ryan Strain who really show how much fun their having though the genre doesnt suit me as well. I hope Im able to get some more of my songs posted soon too. I think everyone needs to post more, I find this site more entertaining than most of the others out there.

And its another day in Paradise !!!

No way to choose just five. But overall, I'd factor out those who aren't even trying to obtain mainstream success, so that pretty much narrows it down to:

Neanderpaul
Hayden King

Few others I can't remember now..

And lol I wouldn't even put myself on the list, even though I do strive for that success. It's just not in the cards. I gig to indulge myself, and maybe help someone else 'make it'. :)

Yea, see that's what I am talking about. Ryan is an excellent example.
He has his choosen genre' nailed. He puts everything he has into it, and he wants it to be fun. It's a very popular genre' in the larger metropolatin areas as well as the younger people world wide. I mean with the right cosmic flux in place BOOM ya got Rockin Ryan at the music awards saying I owe it all to the guys at Bandmix. 8)

ouch... I hope there's some other mikev on here u r referring to... I don't even have a basement...

philby, sanshoulsein, cmaxim, neanderpaul, jimmydanger, jw123, shredd, chippy, Hayden, stain, and too many others to list...
I'd like a band with all y'all... but we'd probably just break up cause I'd want to do the theme to the dukes of hazzard at a metal show and would never show up to practice and would bitch 'who stole my pics' when I did...

I've got a terrible personality...
