With things going so miserable lately I thought this evening would be the same. A young harmonica player was coming out to audition from Lawrence, Ks, which is a good 45 minute drive. We rehearse at 7:00 and at 6:45 our guitar player calls and can't make it. It's too late to cancel so I go on ahead anyway and tell the guy when he shows up that we're guitar-less and must do a three piece, bass, harp, drums, so don't expect much. I wasn't expecting much because of his lack of experience and what a surprise, the guy was pretty damn good. We ended up playing almost two hours, and he loved everything we did (who wouldn't?). The youngster (age 26) is from Russia and has been in this country since 1991. In the last few years he's really gotten into the blues and has been hitting the blues jams and taking lessons from harmonica virtuoso Jimmy Meade of the band Levee Town. It really showed, especially his tone. He's definitely coming back for more. Plus I worked today so things might be turning around finally. And I'm feeling better.

Good 4 U Bob!
which is a good 45 minute drive.
Wow! such a short drive. It's good that you found another musician so close by.
Do we get to hear any jamz from you-all any time soon?

I hope to post some new recordings soon, maybe even look into a Youtube production. I'd love to get some good recordings next weekend at our disc golf gig. I hope we're not rained on. I'll be talking to a studio technician this weekend, maybe I can lure him out there. At the least I'd like to get some good digital pics, it's one of the coolest places I've ever performed at. It's a natural sedimentary rock amphitheatre shaped background. The guys are setting up a mini disc golf course and they play all around us while we are playing, it kicks ass!

It's good to hear thigs aren't still so awful, bob.
Glad you're up to playing, not to mention finding someone new to play with!

What did I tell you? We pay a price before the blessing. The greater the price paid, the greater the fortune that is on the way. Just have to believe and keep the faith. I told you things had probably turned the corner. Storms lonly last a short while, the calm is always much longer, that we get to enjoy after!
Good things are on the way brother!
There's more coming!
It's your time. Enjoy it!

Awsome Bob. Those kind of off the cuff surprise jams just are the best.
