Just had my 2nd practice for next weekend's fair gig. I think it's gonna work out just fine. Last time we rehearsed, & I heard the flat singer guy sing "Learn To Fly," a Foo Fighters thing, & I immediately mentioned that I thought I could sing it, & that I'd like to. (The drummer said he owed me one for that. LOL)

Anyway, I kinda learned it pretty goodly, & I don't think I did too badly, for an old guy. Didn't really think I'd do it justice, but I surprized myself on those vocals.

The rest of the stuff looks pretty easy, & I like that there's actually some new millenium stuff in the set, along with some Beatles, Bowie, etc...

Got a call yesterday from a guy I auditioned for a few months back. Seems his band lost the bass player that stayed when they thought he'd leave. So I might be doing yet another band thing soon.

The plate head guitarist is coming back Sun for TFRB, too. Hope he continues to learn the songs & get more aggressive on that axe. I heard through the bluegrass grapevine that he actually bought a tuner! Guess I got through to him about that, so there may be hope for him, yet!

So things are looking somewhat upwardly, for the moment, & I'm starting to have some fun at last! YAY!!!!

Fun is good!! It sure is nice when you can enjoy it.. I never want to get back to a place that music and work feel the same... and I like my work!

Lets hope it stays like this for you for a long time!
