I wish I could find some good new music to listen to.. (of course I've listened to you guys' stuff and it's mostly great stuff and I've really enjoyed it,, but.. u know what I'm talking about??.. (of course I've had a few tonite.. why bother asking.. :P ) .. would I be posting this if I hadn't?? lol... :D...

Oh- and PS- I watched "America's Got Talent" for about a half hour tonite and for every 30 seconds of "talent" there was 5 minutes of commercials.. What a crock of sht!!!!!!!@

Better yet go check out Craig Maxim's new Myspace page. He's got new material on there that's awesome. I particularly like his song Train. The man is a great songwriter and singer.

Radio, I listen to XM, I can just pick a genre that I want to listen to and dont have to listen to the obnoxious DJs.

Of course the real alternative is to just make your own music, I think thats waht Im getting ready to do. My band doesnt want to write new material so I will just do it for me.

Pandora is the answer. It's simply awesome. It's how I find all sorts of new music that I can't discover on the radio (or MTV, since they don't actually play music anymore).

I was looking through the bands Kramer is up against on that promotion thingy. Some are really good soundz up there but the stark thing is that for the most part the next wave of music seems to be SAME OLD STORY.

To be honest I hardly EVER listen to the Radio now and even when I do its a local advert free channel here who play some quite decent stuff.

The music biz seems to be hurtling to self destruction or its just ran out of ideas or maybe it just likes a drone sound with guit boxes following singers voices and the bass following on too because that's mostly what I hear.

Sad really but I know that just under the surface there are some quality groups. Give them a chance too yeah?

Sad, why are you sad about the state of music? Get a life and do something about it.

Music constantly cycles and mutates itself, yea there are some generic forms that keep coming around.

To me rock music gets real slick in some way and then something comes along to tear it apart.

In the 70s, rock got real boring and you had Punk Rock and New Wave that shook it up a little. Early 90s Michael Jackson is all the rage and Nirvana comes along and knocks it off the top of the chart. Grunge got the reputation as a form of none musicians, althought there were some really good players in there, they just werent as out front as the 80s hairband guys that they displaced.

Whenever music gets boring some young obnoxious group comes along and shakes things up. Then the radio waves get covered up with copy cat bands for awhile til that becomes boring then it cycles again.

There is so much fantastic music within the reach of your computor, I cant understand you not finding something that suits you. Saying you cant find anything interesting just shows your own laziness in looking, there is cool stuff out there, go find it or make your own.

Theres some really good music amongst folks on this site, you just have to start listening. Or are you one of those people that likes to get led to something cool, try to discover it on your own before the masses do.

Where is stringdancer when you need him? :D
Wull erm yeah, trying and I'm sure you'll hear about it once I've completed several things that I have to contend with in the real world.

Gee. This is really a tough place unless you post bar images and have a regular gig schedule and multitudes of local fame. What I do have is a shiny lawnmower that my wife bought cheap. Shiny though. I'll post some pictures next week of me cutting the lawn while swigging a bear.

Yeah there is stuff I like out there. There is also a funnel to which piped dreams are squandered for a one minute hero wonder buster band.

I do have a life and frankly young man I am glad you are not in it.
Cheers.

Chipfryer.

Chippy to me you are a very narrow minded person when it comes to music.

The time you spend making clever post could be better spent inproving your playing ability or digging for "fresh" music. Its out there if thats what you want to do.

I try to push people with my post to get out and do something about things instead of bitching about them on a forum like this. Probably within reach of where you live is some sort of underground music scene that would turn you on. And want to get active in, you will never find it here, just more of the same.

Z your a man in his 50's do like the rest of us men in our 50's it's the natural order of things, listen to talk radio LOL. I would be willing to bet that most men on this forum from the age of say 45 and up listen to at least 5 to 10 hrs. a week of talk radio. Lets face it they don't make television for people our age so why would they make radio for people our age with the exception of talk radio of course. Sometimes I feel like society is putting me out to pasture LOL!

:D Oh dear.
I won't say too much on this. Please take a look at your books on here too.
You are not my Father, Mother, not related in any way at all to me and you are judging me on some 1000 posts I suspect correct?

We'll finish this here. When you know a situation better you will be better commenting on it, but not until you do.

I am not your enemy! We have talked and disagreed on the Jackson thread too. "Whatever" does not constitute an ending. You said I was narrow minded and needed to get a life.

*** Just so you know old chap. I am building a musical machine in my barn. (Studio = Barn). Everyone on hearing that machine start have liked the sound to date and I tinker with it but I don't want it to get out of control.

WHEN. And only When I have covered my ass I'll be able to release it and get some really good feedback from various places. Unlike you being the apparent God of your area I'm just the street guy from Britain who hits things with silly sticks and stuff.

I never assume so perhaps you are right at the end of the day. I am in fact narrow minded and need to get a life.

Now then can I go mend my bed that I had to saw in half just to save $300 bucks on getting a new folding one and hope that we can be at least cordial friends in future please!

Cheers.
Chippy.
