THANK YOU!

.

I wanted to tell everyone "Thank You"

And I needed to do it in it's own thread.

Tonight at Midnight, as you know, I debut 10 New Original Songs. But for me, this is not a simple or careless matter. After what I have been through with my former band, somehow I feel that much is riding on the success of the debut of these songs, and the responses to them.

We've all shared our work here, as we have created new things, but this is different for me this time. I am at a crossroads, and which path becomes open to me, and which one becomes closed, is the difference in keeping the faith in a dream, or burying it... burying it forever. Few things are more somber than losing a life-long dream, and losing it for good.

I have been nervous as hell. Are these songs really any good? They feel good when I write them. Will others feel the same way?

I would be a nervous wreck through all this, but I came back to some friends, friends who are also my peers, and without exception, you guys welcomed me back, comforted me in my pain, and encouraged me in the opening a new chapter of my life musically.

I don't know that I can adequately express how grateful I am for that.

But it has meant the world to me, and helped keep my confidence up, and renewed my drive and determination to not quit.

I want to thank each of you personally for that.

Thank you so much!

Being a lil nervous is normal, but don't pet the sweaty stuff...er...sweeten the pet stuff...er...well, you know.

How & where are you "debuting your new material?" I musta missed that in my reading. Is it gonna be live, solo? with a band? on a radio station? with some friends?

Not that it matters. If it, or some of it, fails, remember that there's more coming, if things keep up, so it isn't like an all-or-nothing, one-shot deal.

I used to get myself into quite a tizzy over each & every song, before I presented it to anyone. You know what? I only WISH I had those anxieties these days! I haven't had the muse to write in a long time, & I miss it a bunch.

Good luck with yer debuts, Craig. Worst thing that can happen is that you hafta go back to the lonely writer's garret. Best thing that could happen? I dunno. The sky's the limit, man. Seems like a good risk to me. You have good writing skills in your genre, good presentations, etc. Take a moment or two before the big deal begins to get into your zone, & knock 'em on their collective keesters.

You'll do well, I'm sure.

Good Luck Craig

Im sure you will be fine. I think Im at a point that commercial success isnt the answer, the answer musically is to just be true to yourself and write about things that matter to you. Im sure they will connect with others who feel the same.

John

Thanks for the comments and support guys!

The songs are being released on MySpace - TONIGHT at MIDNIGHT!

10 New Songs

I whited out my MySpace page for 10 Days and changed the graphic each day as a countdown 10, 9, 8... etc... it has actually built ALOT of anticipation, and I debut the 10 songs, a new profile, and more, as an "introduction" and the official start of my solo performing career, but particularly my professional songwriting career. I have decided to write for others and license my music to them. I have already had some success in this recently, as I have written some songs for an artist who is a new protege for a famous producer in Miami. I sent her two songs and she loves them both. The producer is finishing work on a world-class studio he has been building in Miami, and I believe you will hear one of my songs on the radio done by this artist by next year. The one she loves most is called "Fall" and it will debut tonight at midnight on my MySpace. I may not leave it up for long however, especially once I find out it has been accepted.

I also was given an opportunity to pitch Tim McGraw through one of his producers, for my song "September" so I believe that has a shot as well.

Since these two events, I have noticed that people are signing me up on Twitter like crazy, and a few famous producers and ARTISTS are now following me... ME... on Twitter. Famous people allow you to sign them up on Twitter, but they almost never "follow" anyone they don't know personally. To "follow" on Twitter, means they are personally requesting that Twitter sends them all your Tweets (Twitter Updates) and these often go to the person's cell phone. Many, if not most, people use Twitter from their cell phones, and get the updates of the people they choose to follow.

I also have had over 1000 new friend adds on MySpace in the last week!

The songs being posted tonight, range in genre from moody ballads, to hard rock, R&B, blues, a ballad with a spanish flavor to it, etc...

Many different things.

You guys are sure to like one of them! LOL

Thanks again to everyone!

Writing some blues? Hmm, mind if we do a few Craig Maxim covers? I know you'd be proud of the way we would do them, I'd get your permission of course when we put them on our next Cd (and send you some royalties as well)...

Whoa man, that's some pretty good music, IMO. But then again I'm not too good with all the music theory/technical stuff but it sounds great to me. I can tell you, from a novice perspective, that I can feel the emotions in the song with your voice and stuff. If I can feel that, then it's gotta be pretty good in that aspect at least, lol. Some of the songs remind me a lot of the Dave Mathew's Band mixed with some Michael Bolton.

Thanks very much guys, for the kind words!

I had 75 song plays in the first hour!!!

I never even got close to that with the old band. 75 song plays in a day was very good back then! WOW!

Thanks again for the support my friends! :D
