Guitars That Never Took Off

Seems some Gibson and Fender models just never caught on with guitarists. I'll start things off with a groovy Les Paul Signature model. What other duds can y'all think of?

I recall drowlin' over a Fender electric 12 string that hung on the wall of our local music store back in the 60's.
I can't recall ever seeing anyone playing one.

Looked something like this

Anyone remember the one year that Peavey came out with an acoustic/electric that had a whammy bar on it? I guess it didn't go over too well, as they never made anymore and I never saw them advertised again.

Here's one!

Lemme tells ya J...I would kill for one of those Fender 12 strings. There is a "not for sale" one hanging up as eye candy at "The Twelfth Fret" vintage shop in nearby Toronto that I drool over everytime I'm there. It's a custom red color. Not sure if it's cherry, or candy apple, but either way, it sure is sweet. I have a Korean made DeArmond 12 string electric (pic link below) that is ok for now. I don't like Rickenbacker twelves due to the reversed position of the octave strings.

Hey howzabout the "GUITORGAN?" I actually saw & played one of those back in the '70's. Weird thing. When you pressed a fret you got this organ sound, but it also had p/us & played like a regular electric guitar. For open chord organ sounds, there was a lil button on the headstock that you pressed with your thumb for the open strings' organ sounds.

It wasn't a bad axe, but it was sorta a specialty item that I only saw once, & never heard about again...
