funny, at a conference this past weekend, the speaker guy made mention of how so many of us use those two as templates...

I wonder if he thinks granite uses limestone for a "template"?
Does anyone go out to intentionally use another band as a template?
With the obvious exception of cover bands and Tributes.
My musical influence is pretty far flung, but I doubt if CP or U2 have much part in it.
Personally I dont care for U2. Nor can I, off the top of my head, name one song from CP.
The only template I feel I have, would be my own limited abilitys and experience as a musician.
