Yes I'm going to Asia

I've been reading online how killer the Asia/Yes tour has been going so I've decided to attend the show here in Detroit on July 20. The Asia lineup is the original, with Carl Palmer, John Wetton, Steve Howe and Geoff Downes. Howe is pulling a double shift this tour, and I heard he's energized. Jon Anderson is not with them but Rick Wakeman's son is playing keys. Should be a great night of music.

That's an auspicious day for me; it will be forty years ago on that day since we landed on the moon, and thirty seven years since I became a non-virgin. I clearly remember both events; I should mark the occasion by having sex on a Moonwalk. You guys will bail me out of jail, right?

It's kind of ironic, The Farley's first CD was titled "Youth in Asia" (euthanasia).

Yeah George I go to a lot of concerts in the summer. The problem is, I either take my gf or my son and always pay for everything so it gets pricey. But a good show is worth it.

I'd love to see that! Funny, I broke out my "Best of Asia" disc a couple of days ago.

Not really the same thing, but our local festival always has some old classic rock act-Eddie Money, Kansas, America, Three Dog Night, etc. This year they have...Starship! I think I gotta go. Mickey Thomas is going to be there, and love the band or hate 'em, ya gotta admit, that dude WAILS!

Sidenote: Welcome back, Craig (although I haven't been here much myself  ).

Joseph6 Now I am magenta with envy. LOL I love Starship and with Mickey Thomas he is one of the most under-rated singers ever and one of those I alway's forget to remember. Maybe they will do Jane.

I'd like to hear Starship do "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" since Mickey Thomas sang on it for Elvin Bishop.

But will they open up with "We Built This City"? (Unfortunately, they built my hometown on banjo music).

Jimmy you get some of the best shows up your way.

Memphis is supposed to be a music mecca but a lot of the better tours sidestep the area.

Asia and Yes together, that is just an awesome lineup.

Post up how the show was so I can drool.

Well John, this is Detroit Rock City according to Kiss. Most bands stop here when on tour. In the past few weeks I've seen Trower, ABC/Wang Chung and Zappa. The night after Yes the original Turtles are playing (with Flo and Eddie, how cool is that?). The Psychedelic Furs return in October, always a great show. I wouldn't mind seeing Green Day this Thursday (with The Bravery, very cool band) but I've got to put some limits on my spending.
