The longest period I've known a band stick together (same name) with me in it was about a year and a half. There have been others that came close but what is your personal record on this?
Bands are fickle entities and fail for the most stupid reasons sometimes.
What is your take on this?
Cheers.

Longest surviving bands for me: True Blue (New Jersey) 1980-1987
Outhouse Blues Band (K.C. area) 1990-1995
Blue Collar (k.C. area) on and off for about six years 1990's-early 2000's
Then I've been in way too many bands that didn't make it a year, especially lately. The one constant for me since the mid 90's to today is I've been playing with the same drummer all these years. Everybody else comes and goes.

Nightwave - 1 yr (no changes)
Tribal Stew - 2 yrs (one guy dropped out before I did)
Red Moon - 2 years (bluegrass, no changes while I was there)
Funk Me Fester! - 2 years (changed the guitarist one time, early on)
The Flamingo Road Band - 11 years! (They're trying to get me to give that damned drunken guitarist aother chance! he says he's straightened up. Bleagh! He said that before!) - 3 guitarists, the last one we had for 4 years, the 1st we had for 6, & he'd been there for over 7 years before I joined
There's a few that I was in for a very short time, too...

Almost four years from insperation.
Two plus years for 4 members.
The 4th of July celebration marks one year of the full 5 members you see in our avitar.
Perhaps we will add a sixth.
Keys should be the next logical step in our progression.

The Farleys, we just celebrated ten years with only one personnel change (the drummer).

Rat Sass - 20 plus years. Have used different drummer and bassist at times, but the core band, me, Tim and Lane, are still jamming.

I'm closing in on my one-year with Val - it's the longest I've ever been in a band.
Sadly, 9 out of 10 bands I've been in rarely hit the six month mark, and it was always the same factors - Alcohol/drugs, or a girl. The egomanic band destructor was always a distant third to those two.

I'm sure I added 3 or more years? Sorry folks. Anyway it is interesting that there have been 14 replies and 4 votes.
