Enya fans and fingerpickers

I just now plugged in & recorded "Caribbean Blue," by Enya.
.
I played it finger-picking on my acoustic guitar.
.
Anyone familiar with the song knows there's a lot of chord changes in this one, and it's originally done on keyboard, which is much easier.
.
I'm looking to hear your opinion on this version. I only recorded it for 60 seconds, but - I managed to get all the major parts of the song in, including the final key change near the end . . .
.
I hope it leaves you wanting to hear more, my friends.
.
Go to my profile, and select "Caribbean Blue."
If you like the finger picking - select my (copyrighted) song "Frolicking Fingers," which is also only 60 seconds.
Please give me some feedback - all comments are appreciated.
Thanks.
Alan

Ok - no replies in 2 weeks - I guess she's not so popular.
I deleted it, to make room for another song.
I don't know if anyone actually even listened to it . . .

Enya is very popular....but no one really checks the song plugs in general Chat....I know b/c I did the same thing. Perhaps we need a "song plugs" section where artists in general can listen and review some work...

That's not a bad idea.
I know I was disappointed, with NO replies . . .
I just had an email from another (unamed) music site, that had a really good hook, "Get your Music HEARD."
I won't go into details, because I know Bandmix will censure this post if I do . . . .
Anyway - isn't that what it's all about? Getting heard?
.
Gee, here's a music site, Bandmix, with thousandsa and thousands of musicians signed up. We're all talking - and no one is listening . . . . ?"
.
Perhaps a separate section for music downloads would be good.
.
I've downloaded a few songs here that have blown me away.

If you really want to sell your music, do a Google search for music, and include the word, "TAXI"
Yeah, that's right, TAXI.
I don't wan't to chance this post getting deleted, so I didn't list the actual address.
This site, on a weekly basis, lists hundreds of new people/companies who are looking for songs of every style.
They PAY.
Think 'Royalties' . . .

To those of you who actually wanted to hear the song: I'll post it again (as a mp3) in the future.
I considered doing 'Orinoco Flow' (Sail Away), but it wasn't challenging enough.
'Orinoco Flow' was probably the song Enya is most known for - it's a great song to listen to. It's the song that first turned me on to Enya.
But 'Carribean Blue,' although not as popular, is a masterpiece. I'd be proud to come up with something like that . . .
Enya should be proud.
Thank you, Enya.
And if I finger pick it, the song really makes me work.
.
Hey - it's one thing to play the right chord at the right time with the right rhythm. With this song - that's hard enough. :)
It's another thing to drop the pick, and then pick the correct one or 2 strings of that same chord at the right time with the right rhythm.
:) It's not easy.
All of a sudden, there are 10 times as many places where you can screw- up . . .
Now, if I could only find a lady who:
1) Likes this song
2) Is brave enough to try to sing it, and
3) Lives near by!

You can take the leads from Auburn Diva if she just records her vocals and she could send it as a WMA or MP3 and you can open it in acid w/ out any conversion whatsoever. And then put it over your guitar... Just like any collaboritive pieces that a lot of people do online. And then there is ejamming.com.....I think thats the website. Once you have a femme vocalist it is probably worth the subscription.

BTW about your first track....I thought you had deleted it which is why I didn't listen.

C.R.,
You said, "BTW about your first track....I thought you had deleted it which is why I didn't listen."
Yeah, I did delete "The Bradley Boogie," because I only have 5MB of space. It had been there (as a 1 min WAV) for quite a while.
Some of the Band-Mix Old-timers might remember "The Bradley Boogie"; I'd gotten many positive comments about it.
I'll re-record that one sometime, too, but I needed to erase one to put another one up.
I certainly can't afford the cost to join, right now.
.
I will edit my profile to show the change. Thanks for the heads up.
.
I had a complaint about using WAV format, so, to anyone else listening: the 3 songs posted now are all in MP3 format.
.
Glad you like them all, by the way, because they are 3 widely disimilar styles of music . . .
.
As to "Orinoco Flow," well, maybe I'll do it later.
I love the song, but it's not as fun to play. I never finger-picked it, though . . . . yeah, we'll see . . .
.
As to Auburn Diva - I'm game, if she is . . .
.
Thanks for your comments.

I don't s'pose anyone could give my tracks a listen.....it is very out of your taste range except maybe a few people here but I would just like to at least get some feedback on sound quality for the overall mix.

I thought the sound quality was very good, and the stereo on the thunder was well-done.
And - it's not out of my taste-range, by the way; I used to listen to some of Tangerine Dream's stuff quite a bit. :)

Hey, Chemical Residue.
Earlier we were talking about "Caribbean Blue," by Enya.
And I'd mentioned thinking about doing "Orinoco Flow," but "it wasn't challenging enough."
You'd said: " Do that one....Orinoco Flow - I like that a lot."
.
I said, maybe I'll do it later.
I found some chords for it, and applied them.
Hey, this is a GREAT song!
It uses many standard chords, and isn't too hard to play at all, but I found a couple spots in the song that make it a lot of fun to play.
Got a problem, though.
Over a period of about 5-6 days, I broke, 1, 2, 3 & then 4 different fingernails on my right hand (mostly while moving stuff around in the basement, and splitting wood, outside).

I won't be able to do ANY finger-picking songs for another 9 - 12 days, minimum . . .
But I WILL finger pick and then post this song.
.
I'm glad you asked me to do it, for I never would have re - discovered this great song.
Thanks.
