Good energy. The vocal level needs to be a little more out front in the mix, a little hard to understand at times. You're a fine young guitarist. Being a blues musician I'm a little biased but it wouldn't hurt you at all to learn some blues licks (Freddy King, Roy Buchanan, Stevie Ray Vaughan). Stealing some licks from heavyweights like these and incorporating them into your music won' hurt you at all. Welcome to Bandmix and visit the Forum once in a while...

wow i was suprised to get responses to the song i put up..thanks! That was my old band i played in for a while..we broke up about a year ago, its a pretty rough recording but we liked the way it came out..has some of that garagey vibe..i dont really hear a connection to The Cure in that one..but its all good! And Fisherman Bob, i actually am very influenced by blues and alot of those old blues players(Albert King especially)..I guess it doesnt really show in my playing tho..one of my all time fav players is Robbie Robertson of The Band.

Always a downer when a band breaks up but it sounds like your moving on.

Are you working on some solo stuff now? The song you have posted sounds good with the raw vibe. Do you record?

My favorite blues guitarist is Freddy King. You should check him out as well as Roy Buchanan. Of the current crop of young blues guitarists I like Joe Bonamasa about the best. The more you incorporate the masters into what you do the better you'll sound...

Yea things just kind of stopped clicking creatively and personally..we had put out some good stuff while we are together..put out a record that i am very proud of. I am just beginning to do some "solo" stuff, bought myself a cheap 4 track to work on things. I dont record or engineer or anything like that, tho iv been getting very interest in that lately. I am moving to Florida soon so i am hoping to start something there..but it seems like there isnt anything exciting going on there..i am kind of bummed..
