Peddling what?????? You asked for my credits .... I gave them.... none... if you don't want the answer ... don't ask the question.

All I see in that list of credits you listed ..... is a bunch of GIGs. Your still NOT a household name. Your an Amateur.

End of discussion from me... I made my point .... which was overstated ... sorry....

Next topic.

God are you ever arrogant … if we went by your standards most of the players backing up these household name of yours would be amateur … I’m sure players like Willy would get a kick out of that … as he wasn’t known until the 70’s but was writing hits like “Crazy”, “Hello Walls” etc back in the late 50’s and early 60’s … I guess Carole King would be another …. two great song writers that few people new their names.

There’s more pro’s out there that backup the stars (that are not household names) … than there are stars (household names). And this industry can’t survive without them … they’re the ones out there making the music.

Mage …. You sound very naïve (young perhaps).
You sound like you think you have this game (music) all figured out …. I hope you have bags of money because that’s what it’s all about is money. (promotion / marketing)

WTF? i don't even know how to...how to..how..to. WTF?
That the stupidest statement i've ever read.

Even your new wave internet music site seems to be the same as the current trend; everybody and their brother makes money...except the musician...yeah, thats original.

Your point? You mean your point that you have zero clue what "professional" actually means in music? Yeah, OK, I can go with that.

And by the way, it's "you're", not "your", genius. We professionals usually know how to spell, too.

I suspect he has an allowance. If he mows the lawn and takes the trash out regularly, that is.

In the strictest sense of the word, the term "professional" means you get paid for what you do. If you are not paid, you are an "amateur" if you get paid, you are a "professional"

I suspect that Irminsul is paid quite well, and therefore, most certainly is a "professional".

Ok people ..... lets do the fan pole..... you all say i'm crazy for suggesting that your not a professional until your a household name .... ok fine ... thats fair ..... you have your opinion I have mine .... so lets get that opinion split.

Lets ask 1000 fans:

IF an artist/musician is NOT a household name are they/may they call themselves .... a professional artist/musican?

If you get the majority vote I will of course apologize to every one of you......

Don't just sit there and suggest I am wrong .... lets go "prove" I am.

Are you game?

Do we just have to attach 1000 fans to a pole, first one done is the winner?

oops, my bad; the first one done would get to call themselvs a "Professional Fan Attacher"? 8)

No ... I suggest we go to Bebo.com and ask only the Artists themselves .... I think we could benefit better from not only an outside of Bandmix opinion ... but also .... from people who are also artists/musicians.

Shall we go?

You're confusing being a "professional" with being a "star" and they are very different things. Following your logic, lawyers who are not well known are not really lawyers. Which of course is foolish. Some lawyers are in the "big leagues" and are famous and well known, and others are not very well known at all. But they are ALL lawyers and they ALL belong to the same "profession". Some are simply more successful than others.

No .... Lawyers have a Law Degree proving they are a Professional .... and if you have a Music Degree .... then I owe you an aplogogy.

But thats a different type of Professional ....

We are talking about Professional performers ... not practitioners from an office.

There isn't even a forum...where will this "poll" be?

pro·fes·sion·al

Pronunciation[pruh-fesh-uh-nl]

–adjective 1. following an occupation as a means of livelihood or for gain

-----

The term could also be used to mean "expert" at something, but NONE of the available definitions conform to your interpretation, that you have to become "famous" to be called "professional", which in fact, is what you are suggesting. I'm sure you will now find fault with the dictionary as well, but unless you convince them to change their definitions to conform to your personal point of view, then I humbly suggest, that YOU have a problem, not us, and not the people at Websters or Heritage, et al

However, while you are in pursuit of that goal, here's another word you may want to look up: "narcissistic"

LOL!!! I know musicians with degrees in music who are stocking STORE SHELVES right now.

And NO, we are NOT talking about "professional performers" alone. We're talking about PROFESSIONALS. There are professional session musicians who never perform in front of audiences. There are professional scorers in Hollywood...those are musicians who take a film composers' piano or computer audio sketches of their original music, and then write it out properly for the orchestra. There are professional musicians all over the map who never perform, yet are still professionals.

'mage once again you are proving you have zero credibility, and don't know at all what you are talking about. If you had an ounce of sense you would look at what Craig said about distinguishing "professionals" from "celebrities".

And the poll thing...thats a hoot. So you propose to turn reality on its head by putting it to a poll? Most people believe that the world was created in 7 days. Does that mean its a fact?

Lordy, this kid is off the charts
