I was referring to Mark's chart!! (you're supposed to say 'damn it, Jim!!!!')

Dammit, Jim, I'm a pianist--not a mind reader!

Sure, if I can get some time; I'm fighting w/ both the insurance companies (homeowner's) and the HOA here, and between them, got my hands full. Seems like everyone has this crazy idea I'm an ATM machine...

Say, what software do you use to create charts/scores/etc.? I'd love to have something where I plug my Korg into the computer, start playing and viola--instant score. (Yes, that was a pun.) I tried a few (pricey) packages on a trial basis a while back, and not only were they pricey (did I mention that?), but they were also pretty difficult to use. I just want to input key & time sig and have it spit out a score based on what I play. Writing charts by hand isn't so bad, but... There's gotta be a decent package out there for pianists...

Dammit, Jim, I'm a pianist--not a software engineer!

alright....i got to check out the latest versions from Memphis1 and RG!

thanks guys for weighing in w your takes. yep. sure is interesting to see what creative musicians can come up w when independently interpreting the same set of chords. 8)

RG....very cool take. I'm not a big fan of techno (is that the right description for the approach yo took here?) but that was interesting and and well played. you definitely kept it moving forward as you introduced new things and moves along the way. but I have to ask...... "Chopper bass a la Planetguy"??????

Memphis1 ...i don't know if you'll see this, but that was an interesting approach you took as well. as schmed said...the levels are very low and i really had boost volume to hear everything going on there. i wish you had or would develop it further as the way it stands now, it strikes me as a "rhythm bed" or backing track that's lacking a melody and soloing. i did like around the 3:50 mark when you broke it down and the "flute" patch played a little bit.

again...thanks for weighing in.

anyone else?????

Well, Jook, I did say I'm pretty busy right now. If I don't get my HO insurance issues resolved (had to actually file a complaint w/ FLOIR) and submit my documentation vis-a-vis the HOA, I could lose my house--or at least be saddled w/ thousands in undeserved debt. In comparison, everything else is trivial. I lost most of yesterday being poked and prodded by the medical types. Haven't even played a note in the last few days--only tinkered w/ P-Guy's version a bit the first day I got it, and I really like his take. (Oddly enough, I'm not a fan of techno, but liked RG's take as well. Well constructed.)

I realize everyone likes instant feedback, so call it my great failing. I'd love nothing more than to sit around playing music all day, but under the current circumstances... But I'll get to it...eventually.
