then by the end of next year, 12/24/2016, we should all be donning Oculus headsets and
meeting here on the forum in VR.
I will then shake your hand, virtually of course, and concede your point.
...and I will be happy to meet whatever person you will be then.
It has not yet been announced but the Occulus is finally ready for market, and being shipped out. That will be announced any day now.
Since robotics is also now at the tipping point for mainstream application,
how about a Virtual reality travel agency?
It already exists.
Ascape.com
I've got my own channel there....cultural xchange series
Offering a scalable experience from tiny flying cam drones, to full sized mobile humanoid robots,
equipped with 360* camera and sensors etc, remote controlled through cellphone signals,
with a VR headset and body sensors.
That only works when the cameras and drones come way down in price. We thought about getting a drone but it's actually quite an expensive risk, so we partner with a friend who has several drones. He shoots a youtube show called GoPro Israel & GoPro Australia.
So tourism can be done right now by going to Ascape, or you can customize with a drone to anywhere you want for the "right" price

They could move around at will embodied in a full or half humanoid robot, in real space & time, interacting with real humans etc., as they would in "reality" ... or just fly around like an insect, depending on their budget and needs etc. Also we should have available, economical dog & cat bots, as well as more exotic specialties like bat & pig bots.
Venue & club owners could have a number of these on their premises and sell tickets to embody
a bot of some level to view a performance or hang with celebrities ... or for a premium of course,
you could rent a celebrity-bot to embody. You could hang out in a robot facsimile of your favorite star!
Popular celebrities could have their own bot franchise where fans can subscribe to embody as Beyonce or Jay-Z etc.
Think of how much money you could make if you had yourself a stable of a couple dozen or so Yod-bots to pimp out!
Just think, a young couple of the future could get married in Las Vegas
embodied as Princess Diana and O. J. Simpson!
With more specialized broadcasting antennas, maybe deep under the sea, or outer-space, on the Moon.
Eventually the option could be offered to download the entire content of your brain into such a robotic embodiment so that you will be able to live forever, immortality, the 'techno life everlasting' .... The Google Body.
A 'split personality could buy a Google Bodybot for each persona and be cured!
Those who could not afford to buy a bodybot before their biological one wore out, could rent one.
If they are unable to make payments they could go into storage for a time until family could come up with the dough to buy or rent a bodybot for them .. or if left unclaimed .... we will hope for the best according to their religious preference.
Groups of poorer people could split the cost and all inhabit a single bodybot like roommates sharing in renting a house.
Remote virtual & everlasting embodiment for rent r' us.
Now THAT is using your imagination!!

Whatever your content is (music in this case) it has to be something that a person would want to experience, of course, so yea, you should work on making music if that is what you want to present.
My point is that, for the moment, we're all on the same footing as the major networks and the major labels. They don't control this pipeline yet, and it will take them a year or two. I've already seen some fabulous VR music videos and it won't be long before there are more. Then there will be a program that shows them and people who are unknown to TV and radio right now will become huge international stars.
I think you agree with me, Vinnie, about how there would soon be a truly international music scene, with artists from India and China and Brazil and Africa becoming as famous as Elvis. This is probably how it will happen, or at least leading to it.
