RyanStrain3032 wrote:How come threads on the internet always turn into arguments? Yes, I understand you all have opinions, but do you always have to share them?

I made this thread to get feedback on my vocals, and to see if there are any interested bands. I did not make this to be a debate about who likes screamo and who doesn't.

So if you have anymore insults you want to throw around at people, please take it to another thread.

Now if we could get back on topic:

RyanStrain3032 wrote:Just came to say...I posted a cover of In Flames' "Take This Life" on my profile. Don't pay attention to the little parts where I sing cause the key was too high and I was struggling a little. Just focus on the screams. Listen to the whole thing too, cause the best part is during the last 15 seconds.

I trust there will be no more arguing...at least on this thread.

Aaaaaaaand we're back to my post...Everybody shut the hell up!

The fight will end if YOU want it too...Stop posting on this thread and it'll stop! Stop fueling the fire!

Is this how everybody acts on this forum? I don't ever want to post anything on here again if I know it's going to start World War III.

Alright, well, just sharing a view there, Captain.

Um, anyhow. Yeah, I am not getting overly involved in this issue. I just wanted to throw in my 2 cents. I have nothing more to say, I made my point.

Peace out, GuitarAnatomy.

Screaming for screaming's sake is stupid. If you scream in a song and the song WORKS then great. If it doesn't work try singing the song instead. If that doesn't work you should dump that song. Screaming is like any other vocal technique or instrument technique. The trick is to use what WORKS. That just comes with experience. You'll learn even quicker by playing your material in front of a live audience. If the audience doesn't react one way or another or reacts negatively, then screaming in that song may not be the thing to do. For me whether the vocalist is screaming (or not) is not as important as being able to understand the lyrics. If you can't understand your vocalists lyrics then don't scream or sing, make the song an instrumental, or better yet make sure the music is low enough in volume to understand the vocalist. Lyrics aactually mean something to people, why bother singing or screaming if you can't understand them? As you gain more experience you'll refine your vocals and produce songs that WORK. Good luck to you...

Well that's what I try to do. Cause I noticed that for every hardcore song I was listening to, I had to look up the lyrics. So when I record something, I do my best to enunciate and make the lyrics understandable.

I just posted a cover of In Flames' "Only For The Weak" on my profile. This one was a little more complex than "Take This Life". There's more voice effects and crap goin on. Let me know what you think.

AH! NO! *He takes off his sunglasses.*

Frazier! *He takes the mustard bottle away from him, assiduously placing it down on the counter.* Two can play at that game. *He pulls out a bottle of Heinz Ketchup, he sprays Frazier's hair with it.*

How does it feel? Feeling horrible yet!? :P

Mustard? There is mustard left? Can I have a soft pretzel? lol

And I need a Diet Coke as well. (hooked on the diet, you know)

Umm, you know what would go good right now? A hotdog!! A Nathan's Hotdog with mustard and relish. (Any relish in there?)
