Here we go guys. This guy is way less known than everybody we have talked about. And I know it's debatable but I doubt any one of these guys could play this well.

He plays very nicely!
I do find his repertoire much too bland for my own tastes, but I wouldn't say he was overrated.

One could list hundreds, if not thousands, of lesser known guitarists whose playing is way above any of the overrated players discussed here.
I thought that might even have something to do with their being considered overrated.

Slash does look like a clear winner for the title of most overrated gutarist, With Cobain, Nugent and Frehley all sounding like very strong contenders.

thanks for putting up the tommy e link, paul. the guy IS a monster and no one trick pony as he can play in a few different styles/genres.

i really dug the album he did w frank vignola (another monster) "Between Frets".

one of the tunes they did from that album here.....great interplay and obvious mutual respect.

i agree with many on here it has to be jimmy page to many open tuning s to get his sound and my second choice would be joe bonamassa he has good method but no feeling and for the blues you have to feel it

I watched a couple vids with Slash in them. I didn't see much to tell the truth. Maybe he is, in fact - the One.

Plus he is fat now, plays with no shirt. and a tophat. Maybe he could form a 'super group' with Bucket Head.

HAHAHAHAHAHA......ohh..so many rock studs from the 80s/90s have gone fat ..true true!

So when their looks leave them, all that's left behind is the talent eh? IN Slash's case.....not much was left behind except for a few FAT endorsement contracts with Gibson and Seymour

cheers!

John

Abe Lincoln was reputedly a very ugly man and he tells this story:

He was riding in his buggy one day and passed a woman who exclaimed, "Sir, you are the ugliest man I've ever see!"

"Madam, that may be so, but what can I do about it?"

She replied, "You could stay indoors!"
