Yawn. Nothing new. They've tried to prove that forever. It hasn't been and won't be.

But fools will believe whatever lets them off the hook. Oh how they love their lies more than the truth, and it won't be taken from them.

if Jesus was not married, was he not breaking God's Commandment to leave the father and mother to choose a wife and become as one flesh?l

marriage is not a requirement under mosaic law, the verse you quote is describing the state of marriage not a command to undertake marriage.

Christ modified that later did he not?

""Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."
"Why then," they asked, "did Moses command that a man give his wife a certificate of divorce and send her away?"
Jesus replied, "Moses permitted you to divorce your wives because your hearts were hard. But it was not this way from the beginning.

not sure what you might be referring to.

in reference:

Genesis 2:** The man said, "This is now bone of my bones and flesh of my flesh; she shall be called 'woman,' for she was taken out of man." For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and they will become one flesh.
The man and his wife were both naked, and they felt no shame.

people love to take the bible out of context to conform to a particular view popular at any given time.

the truth of these things is self evident,
giving rise to the feeling that truth is shoved in your face, as I have often heard it said.

Careful jimmy. You are showing just how little you know about our constitution. It is evident that you were doing the carp thingy all the while your leftist professors were brain washing you. You have to read up on the writing of the constitution along with the Federalist papers and then you would not display such ignorance.

Read a book. A really good book about how our constitution came about would be "Ameritopia" by Mark Levin. It is a book that may take some concentration but for a man with a book reading degree you should give it a shot. After you read it you won't be tempted to display your ignorance on this matter.

Speaking of ignorant Slacker, I have no idea where you get the idea that I have a degree in literature. I have two degrees - one in computer science and one in information systems. I've been working in IT for 25 years. Try to keep up.

There is no evidence, or logical reason that random chemicals should mutate into creatures who love, who sacrifice, who have and show mercy, let alone develop tear ducts which work in harmony with emotions and incredibly complex mechanics.

If you want to be angry and bitter as you are, that is your choice. Claiming atheism is a superior way of life rather than trusting the information in a book which has survived ages, and you, and shall continue to survive and thrive for people who see its wisdom and power, is man-made reasoning of epic proportions.

Mein Kampf has been around a few years.
But, I'm not basing my life on it.

I try to learn what I can from where I can and move on.
The bible has some good passages.
So does the Bhagavad Gita & the Upanishads.
I gravitate a lot toward Zen Buddhist writings, though.

Simply because you don't understand the complex mechanics of something doesn't mean "GOD did it."
Just because you don't understand the complexities of thermonuclear physics very well it doesn't mean GOD built the reactors powering your house.

If GOD created everything, then who created GOD?
And if he JUST ALWAYS existed, why can't everything else JUST ALWAYS have existed?
It's less complicated.

If there is any anger there at all, it is from dealing with idiots & assh*oles.

Nonetheless I have also frequently seen the word "religion" tossed about in negative ways by Christians for a couple decades, but the word in Scripture carries no negative connotation.

There was a reason why the scriptures said "True religion is helping widows and orphans".

Evidently there was a negative connotation even then, or they wouldn't have clarified. Probably not nearly as negative as it has become after 2,000 years of greco-church history, but there was control and manipulation from the Pharisees even then.

Nimrod's sin was that he wanted to rule over other men, and that was never God's intent for us. He wanted us to serve and love each other.

I think Penguin said he had the degree in Literature.

I almost got my doctorate in Women's studies...back when I long-distance dated a Humanities Professor, who taught in Boston. But alas, she dumped me for the women I had been studying...

Well, you have one of two choices. Information and complexity came from an information source, a Creator/Designer of some kind or another, because nuclear reactors don't design and build themselves. Or, you can believe everything came from a pencil dot of energy, the current theme, which is still void as an answer to origins for obvious reasons. The fact is, the process of producing tears is far more complex than a nuclear reactor producing electricity. Even more complex is what takes place in the fallopian tube in conception. There are hundreds of such complexities in a human, not including the rest of life on earth. The mathematical chances of these complexities developing by mutations, which is a loss of information, not a gain, is something like 10 to the 80th power. Statistical impossibilities. But I reckon you know all this already.

Those who believe in and think magical chemicals simmering in a hot puddle of water struck by lightening have mutated to produce nuclear reactors is way too much of a fairy tale for those who see a Creator/Designer's hand in nature.

Yod, I do not deny false religion exists. By that very reason a generic negative use of the term 'religion' should be avoided, no?

We want true religion, not vain religion. Keeping oneself unspotted from the world is certainly a worthy pursuit as religion of the highest kind.
