BE,

I really enjoyed "Night Vision". I like the fact that you did not squash all the dynamics. Very nice tone on the guitar and a really clean recording.

"Mid-Winter Blues" is another one that really stood out for me. I loved the mix. Lots of air. I do love the open sound.

Does everyone leave your studio with mixes that sound that good? If so, don't give up the studio gig. :)

Thanks slacker , I try, I work for "cat", drive 124 mile everyday so my music is as good as my left over energy allows . Hearing that another seasoned musician digs what I'm trying to do helps make it worth while.

TJ

As a fellow Nightwish fan I salute you. You stuff sounds pretty darn good to me. (i know it's trite but I miss Tarja!)

I'm kind of a southern rocker / metal head so I might be listening to Black Label Society today and then Steve Earl tomorrow. Makes the inside of my head a turbulent plance.

good luck with your music pal.

TJ, Mesas just plain ROCK. All their cabs sound great. I have an older Stiletto. It just CRANKS.
Best amp I ever owned.

You do have to keep the tubes fresh.

TJ, Im a strong advocate of Mesa Amps, I use a triple rec for live with a Mesa 4x12 and lately Ive been pairing it with an old Laney 4x12, not for volume but the two cabs seem to compliment each other, the Mesa is darker and deeper sounding and the laney seems to have better mid to high snap to my ears.

But hell I sound the same no matter what I plug into, its just a personal preference.

I go for a JCM 800 Marshall tone thou, so a good early 80s model JCM 800 50 watter would make an excellent amp for a more Slash tone. I have an effects pedal board but in the end all I need is a Les Paul a wah and an amp to get most of the tones that I want.

JW, I used a Marshall JCM 800 50 watter. plugged into a 4x12 slant cab through the 80's. That was the best rock sound I ever had! Now I am too old to be lugging all that heavy gear around. The clean sound wasn't very good either!
