I'm with jookey on this one - Ted you're just being insulting now. If you had anything to disprove what we have asked/questioned, you would have done so. Case closed.

Nope, you're only insulted because it's true that you lack the vision to understand the big picture...the future of art and music, which is a reflection of the world around us.

Those who have the courage and conviction of creating original art need others who purchase or imitate it. Nothing inherently wrong with being reactionary (we need customers!) I just thought I could find a few visionary artists to discuss the unlimited future that VR presents.

Having a negative reaction to something before you understand is only a pre-emptive excuse for ignoring the reality that you aren't even in the game. So be insulted...I don't mind pissing you off, if it will motivate you to do something about your lack of imagination. It's obvious to me now that you will only write this off as the arrogant ravings of a madman. You'll respond with more insults.

But your self-imposed blindness doesn't affect me whatsoever. I'm still very confident you will see soon enough.

You can always hire a therapist if you're having feelings of inferiority.

Yes, do that.

There is a difference between Rembrandt and a graphic artist. One had vision and took risk, the other doesn't stretch beyond what has been done already.

Both create "art" but only one of them is an artist.

Ted, you are insulting everyone in this thread, but your nose is too far up in the air to realize it.
You have yet to provide anything to substantiate your claims - they are no more valid than Vampier's 'end of the world as we know it' posts.

No, I realize it quite well. Just past caring...

That's just stupid. One of us is getting info from Alex Jones and the other from Wall Street Journal/Forbes. One of us is hiding somewhere in the desert, and the other is finding investors & building a company to do something never done before. Though I tend to agree with the general thrust of his fears, I'm lighting several torches instead of cursing the darkness.

And I've substantiated anything that needs to be substantiated. I'm not convinced that any of you understand what "a new platform of film-making and media technology" actually means.

You disagree about the impact of something that is going to disrupt the way things are very soon. OK, not a biggie....like I said....I'm SUPREMELY confident that you will see soon enough.

Here's an article (NBC news) about the new VR tech: http://www.nbcnews.com/tech/innovation/ ... al-n482631

Gaming is the big market. Everything else is for those same consumers who then can also use it for ... I went to see the new Star Wars movie in 3D on Friday. I'm not a 3D fan, but the 2D version at around the time I wanted to see the movie was sold out - the 3D versions had seats left (what's that tell you?) Is a VR movie going to be any different? NO! Yeah, I guess they could film more - use a 180 panoramic camera, but what would be the point in turning your POV in a movie, where the editing has already kept the action right in front of you? In the article they mention a T Swift concert - watch it free on youtube, or pay $5 to VR watch it.
They have an example of touring an apartment in VR - yeah, that makes sense. Or one could get off one's lazy ass and go see it in real time, hear what the traffic is like outside at rush hour, or what the noisy neighborhood kids are like after school ...

As has already been said - its VIRTUAL, not real life.

"What the thunder!" ejaculated Mr. Adams, tugging at his white beard.

"It's Clint Folger," announced Mr. Parker coolly. "He's got that automobile out again."

"What!"John M. Winslow muttered, "Again?! He can't do that!" "Well," remarked Mr. Adams, "as a member of the Board of Selectmen, John, you know he's breaking the town's ordinances, but Clint thinks he's taking advantage of time."

"This has got to stop," observed Mr. Parker in his moderate manner.

"He can't do this!" declared John M. Winslow, shaking his head. Another member came in the door. "It's Clint Folger with his black car. He's back again, and," he pointed, "there she is!"

During the first week of 1917 the controversy grew steadily. Clint Folger revived the old contention with a roar. The old argument continued, but the roar of the "anti-auto" faction was louder than the followers of Clint Folger.

No, you haven't given us anything more than an advertising song and dance.
