lol Try it before you knock it.

You input what strings you are playing and what fret and it gives you a choice of what chord(s) it might be.

But don't try it unless you are prepared.

I was calling a bunch of chords by the wrong name and then I found that chord namer. It's a bit of a slap and maybe you get a slice of humble pie, like I did.

The good part is once you realize how to use it, you never really have to guess anymore unless you like being wrong.

You sure or you just trying to avoid finding out that maybe that's not quite it?

I assure you it's a legit site and your computer will not be over run by horrible things that go bump in the night.

Do you want me to input one of your chords and let you know what it said?

C'mon, man up unless that is you know for sure...(rolls eyes)

ok, punch in B,G,C#, and F# and will be an extended chord cause 1 note is beyond the octave..

Dane, you put in what string at which fret.

You know, I retract that. You do what you want to do.

That chord namer is so easily used it's sickening.

If you don't want to use it, don't..idc.

Ok, I can tell you didn't even look but I'll do it for you.

This is the 1st chord on your sheet. I presume that is the one you wanted?

Search for finger pattern = {x 2 5 4 2 2}: 6 results found.

B5add#5add9 B 5th Add Sharp 5th Add 9th
Bsus2#5add12 B Suspended 2nd Sharp 5th Add 12th
Bsus2#5add5 B Suspended 2nd Sharp 5th Add 5th
GM7b5/B G/B Major 7th Flat 5th
C#7#11sus4/B C#/B 7th Sharp 11th Suspended 4th
C#7sus4b5/B C#/B 7th Suspended 4th Flat 5th

There are a zillion sites for this, but I only use the stuff that works and I didn't just fall off the back of the hay-wagon, so you can trust me when I tell you about something like this.

I hope that rather convoluted answer for your chord, works ???

It's a bit more complicated than I thought and most of my chords just pop out with 1 or 2 possibles.

Sorry if that answer is a bit foggy...If I can help you, let me know.

an exercise i give my more advanced bass students is playing a fifth fret harmonic on the "g" and "d" strings. ok, this gives you those same notes an octave higher (with me so far?)....then w the harmonics ringing you play a single bass note on either the "a" or "e" string....now, name the chords that are produced w the added bass note.

it's a great exercise and as a bonus it yields some very cool and useable moves. great for the final chord of a song too.

then, ya can do the same bit for the harmonics produced at the 7th fret, 4th fret, etc

barrel of monkees fun right there, peeps.

thanks Chief, I knew you were not going to lead me astray.. it's just I got tired of trying some chordnamer sites as you call them last night and running into roadblocks and them trying to make me download stuff I did not need, and I was lazy and did not feel like working my brain figuring it out cause I was lazy and worn out mentally, but today nice and refreshed..LOL
