Identity crisis!

Another record broken!! Yes. Three thousand views in one month. Don't believe me. Go to page 18 and ready my speech I made when I broke my first record of over one thousand a month. Dec. 22, 2016 I had 4k views. Jan 22, 2017....7,012!!!! We did it. Thank you so much. You all stepped up when I really needed you. Wow. I take this amazing feet in stride and with great admiration. No one has even come close. I'm glad you can see past my haters and naysayers and except me as a one of your own. I know now you recognize my talent as a musician and I will continue to entertain as well as enlighten you. We all deserve a chance to be great, not hate. lol

I was digging through my music folder and found a version of the 'speedo' Rock track you threw out there that Mark played on. It has a different bass line w/ tons of cool harmonics. Would you & Mark care if I threw some wacko guitar on this track??

i found that version on my SC page yesterday and was playing along on vibes and marimba and thinking i should really do something w that track!

if i recall, when you first heard it, you opined something along the lines of you liking that take, but you felt the bass harmonics took up too much real estate in the higher registers thus making it hard to find some (frequency) room for a gtr part (or two)????

and i see (as i would have suspected) that RG is on board for further explorations. no surprises there as this WAS put out there as a collab passaround.

so....

we have three ways we can proceed (if you haven't already completed your new version)

1. you and i can ea mess w it, and see what we come up left to our own devices
2. you can lay something down and i can can add to it
3. I can lay something down and YOU can add to it

I'll have to re-think my favorite part of this # after a few listens.
I'm hearing a LOT of over-the-top stuff from all 3 of us on this take.

hey, if you want to go the collab route i'm in! w either a new fangled take.... or i can see if there's any room on your take....(sorry, i forgot the title you christened it w). it might be fun to dress this up in some different clothes. and afterall..this is take # 2 w a different bass line that to my ears actually leveled things out a little more than the first rolller coaster ride we all took on RG's drum trks.

and then you had adrenalize it w all that mcgloughlin stuff!

but really , when i just play marimba or vibes over the bass/drums rhythm section of this version... it's just quite straight ahead and very logical Em tonality that lays really well on keyboard mallet instruments.

and the change to BbM7 works easily enough too. the puzzle is in getting a nice gentle "knock on the door" approach to getting into the different harmony of that B sect. that's an interesting changeup but since it is rather different tha what proceeded it....i feel pretty strongly i don't want to just LAND there!
