How does it feel to be told your music sucks? .. Man it would hurt inside but if you have control over your ego..then maybe not that bad? ..

Jimmy Page has been told his playing sucks..and he didn't quit..

I have argued with AV about how Jeff Beck can outplay Jimmy Page..but he swears I am full of sh*t.

Dane, I thought it sounded ok but you're flubbing notes from picking to fast. I've never played very fast and I've grown to accept it. Quality over quantity.

As for people telling me my music sucks, I've proven that the four guys who do that here do so because they disagree with my political views. The more they try to deny it, the funnier it gets. F em.

Thanks. I'm sitting on a stockpile of instrumental music and I need vocals desperately. I've tried some of my own and they've been hit or miss. Just wish some of these vocalists would get back to me on this stuff.

Quality over quantity.

^^^^ That says it all. I've seen Joe Satriani, Eric Johnson in concert. Both are 'speed kings'. When they've finished 3 songs I wonder if they were all the same song, or different ones. Where is the melody? The feel?

The "flubs" if there? were there because it was strictly a 50 second patch of improvisation and not really stable enough to know where I was actually going with the runs from extreme left side of a piano to extreme right side of piano only but on a guitar..not making excuses but give me something I actually have to learn as in a composition then it. Will be smooth and with fluidity..ha

Guess I coulda cheated and soaked it in overdrive with a little digital delay slapback like all the heavy metal cheaters..lol

When you say you need vocals.....do you mean you have lyrics and just need someone to sing them?

Have you had much luck amplifying it Dane? I have a Cordoba Iberian and I've had nothing but trouble trying to amplify or even record it. I know I need to get an LR Baggs Para but too many cool pedals for the electric keep coming along and scuttling that plan. Seems like they really skimped on the preamp section of the electronics on mine.

First of all I don't do Christian music. I've helped create a new genre (messianic) that many christians like, but it does not fit the CCM format or get airplay on christian stations. I play mostly in messianic jewish synagogues. There are a few Orthodox Jewish synagogues playing my music because most of it is just the scriptures set to (jewish folk) music. Heck, even Muslims and Mormons (who claim the Holy Bible in their holy writings) could use it. I would be much closer to Mattisyahu than to Third Day or Michael W Smith.


That aside, singing I would help you with for free. Writing songs for you is another matter. If I'm going to take the time to create something, I'm going to own it.
