When the picture is big, it looks different from when it's small. And is that a Burns or Baldwin bass? That big knob on the headstock looks familiar.

quite true...and so it's best not to make flying leaps and appear an ass w an axe to grind if you're not 100% sure on the details.... after all it IS easy enough to "explode" that avatar for a closer look.

the bass in question is a ROZE....built by Bill Roe, the bass player in one of the bands i play w, PLANET JAZZ. That photo, spur of the moment...I handed him my gtr during a drum solo and he handed me his bass for a solo and to finish out the tune,

that "big knob" you refer to is a scroll..much like you'd find on double basses and Ampeg
SSB and AEB basses. ( cue talbot to weigh in!)

it is an absolutely incredible instrument that he built. he's got a six string bass on his workbench that he's been working on( forever) that has my name on it. i hope to get my grubby mitts on it before i'm too old to play.

unlike you that is always trying to outdo yourself with a vain photo of yourself, I have no regrets taking random photos of myself and posting as an image worthy of bandmix standards.. but next week you will be back trying to outdo yourself, because of your vanity..ever try pancake makeup to hide that nose?
