so dane, how's that 12th fret harmonic vs fretted notes check working out for ya? you like what you hear? sound in tune to your ears?

remember.....you have nothing to lose by checking it and returning an honest answer.

disagreements happen all the time here.. I am dropping this whole thing.. because I value your friendship, and I feel you think I am annoying you, but far from it... I will cease and desist anymore talk about the whole disagreement.. maybe time will heal any wounds you think I imparted on to you..if you do decide to like me again, that would be great.. :(

what is this, Junior High?

maybe time will heal any wounds you think I imparted on to you

you sound more and more like glenny! are you kidding me? "wounds"????

in this here and your other recent go arounds w others....you're the only one who's coming off as "wounded" here. and you're coming off as oversensitive and thin skinned to the critiques you claim you want.

the fact that you're so resistant to taking one minute to do that simple intonation test when someone you say you value as a friend asks you to? what's up w that?

Hey don't drag me into your arguments - and I am by far NOT the best musician on this board by a long shot.

I assume Mark was listening to your latest post (the Martino thing?). From the bit I listened to of the song you posted after deleting the first one, the guitar seemed in tune with itself. Intonation problems show themselves when you try to play up the neck (when the guitar was tuned on the open strings), so playing a lead to another track, or playing chord inversions can make it obvious.

Sorry, Dayne, but the acoustic is 'ok' as to its intonation, but the lead guitar is way off,. I could only listen to a few notes of it. How are you tuning one instrument to the other? That's one advantage to using an electric tuner - you can get multiple instruments very close. Then if you have a guitar that isn't quite perfect with its intonation (only fan frets really are perfect, the rest are compromises), you can further tune the strings based on where on the neck you will be playing them (but obviously avoid running notes up and down the neck on any of those problem strings. Often its the G and B strings that are the worst for intonation - tune to an E major (EBEG#BE) and it sound great, then pay a D major (xADADF#). Sometimes this can be fixed by with a saddle change (on an electric the adjustable saddles are there for a reason!) Sometimes changing to a different gauge string works - my Epi Dot's G string was horrible, when I was using my usual electric strings - 9s. I switched to a 'jazz set' with a wound G string (I think the set was 13s) and the problem disappeared.

you don't even know the time signature changes on the tune , or more to the fact you never have heard of odd-meter time tunes since you are stuck on playing 4/4 only cause you have no musical intelligence, you can follow a script to say foolish things about stuff... :) .. so how can you elaborate about tempo mistakes? say hello to planetguy when you see him :D

I tried, but my soldering sucks, so it never worked right.

I've only ever had a cheap pencil iron (probably bought it at Radio Shack 35 years ago for $5!) - fine for simple wire-to-pot/pickup repairs, but lousy for board work.
