I recorded these on audacity, edited them on audacity. A lot of chopping up. but I'm happy with them. recorded that to tape and back to wav file' so I got some nice analog in the chain, too!

wanted to add keys and stuff, but having a hard time setting that up at the moment.

Thanks. The Middle Eastern Wah Wah one is one I'd particularly like feedback on. The other one is still quite harsh (treble overload) after uploading. I don't know if anyone can make it through that one. It's repetitive, too. I need to edit it down, but I did (try to) keep the effects interesting.

I can't hear the bass part too well though, lost in the wah maybe?
Can you split the bass and guitar signals to process them independently?

Thanks.
It was guitar and bass simultaneously, with the little thunder pickup. I can record four channels at once on my 8 track cassette deck, but not on audacity. It limits what I can do, and I'm still learning. All the mixing and FX were applied on audacity and I'm still figuring that out (or trying to...).
I agree, I need to bring the bass up and that could be done by transferring a mix like this over to my 8 track. I'm still figuring that part out, too.
For now, it was sounding good in my headphones, but I need to push myself on the quality and accessibility of my mixes, since most people aren't listening on $100 headphones.

Spill the beans! :o

Don't feed the whole mix thru the wah pedal. Just the guitar.
Cool to try new approaches. I like that!!

Thanks. I agree it would. I made recordings last weekend with the two other guys on our collective, and I only ran the whole thing through 2 dynamic mics. All week I've been remixing those sessions and wanting to spice it up with more mics on the drums, my silver face mics right on the guitar cabs. But same as last week, I was counting on bass coming through all of the open mics in the room (next to the drums). I think my main mistake was forgetting headphones again! :x
I used the headphones my buddy had there again, but they're not giving me a good representation of what the mix will end up sounding like.
I did also bring my Vox Night Train for the first time in months. Real Chinese tubes!

I swear I thought I had it. I duplicated the track and split both stereo tracks into separate tracks. Then I processed the guitar and drum tracks independently, according to what I thought they needed. I had already run some Phaser and stuff on the track before this, so it was obviously too much across the board (but not for my tastes).

Apart from sound wise, how do you like my overall looping process and splicing fills in here or there to make things flow in a manner closer to 4/4?

How about how I got cymbals to sound like weird bells no one has ever heard of before?

That thing I was playing on that one (middle Eastern) I was just rambling while falling asleep.
I went to see Beck the night before.
