I've yet to see any SOLUTIONS outside of give every kid a glock and then send him to his GF's house to find her macking with his BFF.. yeah, he will be responsible and tell his friend in eloquent words about how hurt his feelings are, and probably forgive him, then they can go shopping for new shirts together.

Can you honestly say there was never a point in your lives where you were so angry that if you had a gun, things might have gotten out of hand? If you say no, then you are probably a liar.

Always had guns and haven't shot anyone yet! I came close one time and diffused a DEADLY situation! What your offering is an invitation to be slaughtered by criminals with guns. I know you feel like at least you are trying but NO THANKS! I am not buying your stick your head in the sand solution.

the statistics speak for themselves. You are paranoid and living in denial. You personal experience wouldn't have happened had guns not been available to anyone. It's all or nothing to you, and you want it all.

I found a way to give you something, and make everyone happy. I know it won't happen, so we are arguing semantics. The bottom line is that there are more gun deaths per capita here simple because of availability, which cannot even be argued. more guns=more death. I don't care if you like it or not, it's the truth. I'm done with this discussion, it strikes a very personal note for me and there's no changing anyones minds on it

But hey, I will have absolutely zero to do with the outcome, but I guarantee you that you will NOT be happy with the changes that are coming, and in the end, you can only blame yourselves for your unwillingness to compromise.

I love how you flaming liberals keep posting these little kids picture's and names to forward YOUR agenda of gun control SHAME ON YOU! Using the memory of those poor MURDERED CHILDREN to push your gun control agenda! Thats just the LOWEST thing I have ever seen! You and Jimmy are real peices of work!

If my daughters name was on that list, would you make the same accusations? It could have been just as easily hers as anyone's.. she went to school that day just like millions of other kids.

I'm NOT a liberal, you are still very confused and ignorant to assert that any political belief that differs from yours is "librul" and therefore bad.

One only needs to read the arguments against gun control to realize just how much more of it we need.

But your daughters name is NOT on that list. In my book you are a liberal. Most all your post and arguments are liberal! Sorry brother I don't mean to offend you I just call'em like I see'um. I don't believe other opinions are "bad" In my book you are way smarter than me. Just don't take away MY RIGHT to defend myself and my family!

In 2011, handguns killed:

48 in japan

8 in Great Britan

34 in Switzerland

52 in Canada

58 in Israel

21 in Sweden

42 in W. Germany

10,728 in the United States of America

It would seem that bans work in the countries that have them.

then explain away Switzerland having basically the same gun laws as the U.S.? and yet a much lower death rate?.. it has to do more with the homogenous population of U.S. different creeds and such not seeing eye to eye with each other.. Switzerland is one "bloodline" only..am I wrong?

these people complaining about gun laws being too lax are failing to see the inner city ghettos are responsible for much of the gun deaths just look at Chicago for god's sake! never mind Watts, Detroit, Harlem, Brooklyn etc.

Some people are always going to have guns.

If you take that as a "given", do you really want to be the entity that doesn't have one when you really need it?

I'll take the chance and prefer to have one where I know I can get my hands on it with little to no difficulty.

Yes, I'd rather have local law enforcement shoot someone down, but if no one is around I'd rather do it myself than have to deal with the issues that might arise if I didn't have access to one.

"Peace via superior firepower" and that goes for music as well.

you oughtto frequent public estate and consignment auctions as much as I do, and you would be amazed at the stuff that is illegal sold at them.. everything from M-17 smoke grenades (picked one up last week for 13 dollars) to diazinon (outlawed pest control agent) to mounted Mallard duck mounts (illegal to own unless a scarred missing toe is present guaranteeing it to be farm/pen raised and thus not wild and legal to sell)..it all boils down to who is going to enforce public auctions as to what's sold at them to keep from people obtaining illegal yet cool things to own or resell?

I know you offered a solution, but to me it reads as "gun libraries staffed by TSA types"

P.S.
I've floated more than one idea - spread out through a few different threads.
Admittedly, I've been kind of all over the place cuz I'm still not processing this very well
