They haven't quit and your 10$ is waiting for you should they decide it's not possible, but I always choose the underdog as opposed to the sure thing.
(Have you no confidence in your fellows?)

well, for the record ...collabortaion HAS in fact been going on. whether it's anything worthwhile or complete songs will ever come from any of it anyone's guess. but i don't recall that any exact "guidelines" were ever set re. the bet and what needed to occur.

i'd say that since people HAVE been collabortaing on it....scottie won the bet. (good luck collecting your $ from that whiny crybaby)

The question is whether or not you'll send me the 10$ you owe me when they finish it...my guess is you are a "welcher in training" since you've jumped the gun. lol

"welcher in training"....more likely he's doing the training.

i wouldn't hold my breath.

Well stop that, it's annoying.

Otherwise, I'll pay-I'll pay-I'll pay you 10$.

Did you hear me? (20x) I'll pay-I'll pay-I'll pay..

Is cash ok with you? Or do I send blood or marrow or both?

scottie, don't cave to his threats of repeating that mantra over and over.

good god man....it IS waaaaay better than listening to him crap out his next snoozerific masterpiece. (i'll send him $10 to be spared THAT)

PaperDog said "...You need at least one guy who is willing to light some fires...then everyone else has to at least be willing to jump on it. always contend that jumping on it includes owning their respective parts, so I would never argue 'how' they do their thing...as long as its not killing the intended work, and they can remember it later/.
.
Yeah, that's a good point (the part I put in Bold).
.
When working on originals, I always encouraged members to not just do what I do, but to try something new - anything, as long as it doesn't sound like a mistake.
It's kinda like covers . . . reproduce it note for note or create new stuff?
During rehearsal, I always said, "Be brave, try something new! If you screw up - that's ok, I don't care; just try something different next time around."
S'okay . . .
I tell them "I LOVE mistakes! Because that's how we learn what else works and what doesn't."
Mistakes show us what we need to learn.
The only ones who never make mistakes are those who never try anything challenging, eh?
Anyway - getting folks to make mistakes . . . the creativity that comes out of that enviroment is amazing.
.
After they've tried all the ins and outs of a song, instead of being able to do a part one or 2 different ways, they have a choice of 3 or 4 ways.
. . . it makes the songs really breath and come alive . . . .

I just tell them one thing; that when they perform live, don't get too, too experimental; screw-ups are great in rehearsal, but not during performances.
I tell them to just relax, don't get too creative, and just do what they know will work.
.
. . . . sigh . . . I love this stuff . . .

I learned a long time ago to not try anything too crazy or for the first time live, wait until I have it down on my own before throwing it out there in front of people.

But, my cover band we make all sorts of mistakes, but we seem to be pretty good at just taking what happens and running with it. Some of our goofups are the funniest parts of a night for me, cause we are flying without a net and have to get back to what ever we were doing.

Most of my originals, I just gave up on a band thing years ago, so when I record I just do all the instruments I can, and if I bring someone in, I dont tell them what to do, just let them do thier thing.

JW you got lots of good music flowing well, keep something around to record your ideas even if it's only paper and pencil..you got the goods, dude.

Capt, Ive laid down a couple of rythym ideas in the last week or so, dont know what I do with them from here, but I do try to keep myself active one way or another playing wise.

I have this old Roland Digital Recorder and the hard drive jammed up, so I was lucky I went into this little computor store the other day I just happened to see and the guy had the hard drive I needed and made me a pretty good deal on it, cause they dont use them that much anymore.

Plus next sat Aint Yo Mama is getting together to jam, something we dont do much, but ussually it turns into a BS session about things we used to do. I want to get out my little video recorder and do a quick christmas greeting or song to put on FB. I was thinking maybe Immigrant Song talking about Santa, or even better Highway To Hell as Highway To Santa! LOL! Who knows what we will end up doing, I just have to make sure to have some Yagar and Red Bull, for Yagar Bombs!

Rhythman, Forming any kind of band is difficult. Like the old saying goes "if it were easy everyone would be doing it"

Record the whole thing with a cheap tape recorder, don't tell anyone.

Later, listen to the whole thing and take some notes on the good stuff.

Then piece together your 3 or more lines and you are good to go.
If you hit a dead spot, pull 1 of your more musical band members in and between the 2 of you, I am quite sure you will be able to finish what you started.

Now recording it is a whole other headache. lol
