We are free to obey. I recommend a book for you: "They thought they were free," which is about the Germans under Adolf.

Study history - compare the fifties in the USA to now. There is simply no comparison. The door has slammed shut. It's over.

Well, fat black women at the TSA is certainly not my idea of a good time. but they don't really scare me.
DUI road blocks??? that's what you want ? you want to drive drunk?
I live Washington DC I've never seen a swat team serve a warrant.
the city with more police forces than any place in the world. we still have a lot of drunks driving around I'll tell you that.
As a student of history I 'm pretty sure I've read more on the Nazi regime than you have, and Stalin and Mussolini and Caesar and Mao and Tojo into the bargain.
and the Germans didn't think they were free, they thought they were on a mission to modernize Europe philosophically and scientifically.
not to mention a little cleaning.
not that we couldn't use a little cleaning up here in america.

I'm certainly not saying that your complaints are wrong.
I was born in 61 which is close enough. I have resentments too. I too miss the good old days.
even then they were arguing over who was picking the lettuce.
for some reason the blacks thought they were picking it.
I don't want to pick it but that doesn't mean I have to be cruel to the people who do.
If you pick the lettuce of the USA it's going to give a leg up over a goat herder from Kenya.
well it really should.
but the solution of running away from your responsibilities is way wrong.

we need to bring POWER back to America not give the rest of it away.
What the flying f**k are you going to do with 11 air craft carriers 75 nuke subs and 3700 aircraft off the east and west cost of the USA??
chase Pedro around?

you will have to sell them and you will find lots of willing buyers!
those mother loving ships aren't going to paint and oil them selves.

think it was general Grant who said.

You know, Switzerland is historically an Isolationist country.

Largest wealth-per-adult of any country in the world.

They also have compulsory military service.

And they have a military firearm in every household. Very low crime rate!

I don't like conscription but I stand with the founders - every man jack should be ready to rock to defend the country.

An armoured division would look good on the border. And that ain't just Pedro swinging by looking for a decent gig. Hadji is coming in too and he ain't bringing flowers.

DUI roadblocks are cool? In a civilized free country there would be no such thing. Actions would have consequences. You hurt someone you swing for it. I actually lived like that for a while, in Rhodesia before the 'free' countries sank it. Got stopped by the cops one night driving on the wrong side of the road. (A brit thing) Four of us, all armed. Cop unarmed. He tore a strip off us and told go have some fun and mind how we drive. I really respected that guy. i don't respect police in this country - not any more.

If we had hurt or killed someone through negligence it would have been another story. They would have hanged us. Fair enough.

well there hasn't been a modern attempt at invasion Switzerland since the nazi's tried it, and that failed miserably. before that 1815
I think most people agree that the Swiss have some pretty formidable natural defenses.
Due to recent revelations I'm not sure the Jews would agree that they are entirely neutral.
practices like the one exercised during the 2nd world war might give you some idea why they can claim to be an attractive place to store your money.
for as long as it lasts.

I'm quite sure getting pop'd for DUI is a grave injustice.
but I'm not going to turn the country over to a senile old man just cause i got a DUI

As far as Mahout coming over I liked the cheny/bush method,
you send the marines to their neighborhood where you can kill them with impunity.
not only do you get to make fodder out of them but people at home cheer for as well, not lock you up and whine over their rights.
but with our Somali in chief I guess that's out.
Now I hear the fool ron paul who wants bury his head in the sand and make the rest of us follow suit.

ever hear of Nevil Chamberlain? he achieved "peace in our time" as well.
the Brits never recovered.

You're absolutely right, you wouldn't think that might have something to do with being an Isolationist country, do you?

Listen, 9/11 was an outrage and an injustice. It was horrible, but if we hadn't spent the last twenty-or-so years trying to dictate the state of affairs in the Middle East, do you think 9/11 happens?

Those people are pissed at us over there. They have their reasons for being pissed. I don't agree with their reasons, and I don't think you do, either, but they have them. If we were never over there, then they never have a good reason to be pissed.

Don't even say money or capitalism or anything. Why aren't they pissed at the country with the most advanced bank system in the world, and the wealthiest?

You guessed it, Switzerland.

The Swiss do have formidable natural defenses, but other countries have bombs, missiles and numbers that they could not withstand. Nobody has a problem with them, and that's all there is to it!

The Swiss are not as neutral as they once were, which is why I stipulated a history of neutrality. They joined the U.N. in 2002, but held out for a good long time before that. Basically, they reneged on any claim to absolute neutrality when they did that.[/quote]

I'm quite sure I disagree. I'm also quite sure that a family of four dying because a drunk driver weaved into the wrong lane and hit them when they were doing nothing except coming home from the hospital and obeying traffic laws is a grave injustice.

You needlessly put other peoples' lives at risk, you die, simple. Then, you take the same risk that you would impose on them, is it not so?

I guess your right we should have looked at it from the Germany's point of view,
I mean they can take over Europe if they want right. and those Jews are pretty annoying.
your right that would have solved the problem we inherited from the brits in Arabia and Persia.
I do believe a Swiss solution would have been best, being on both sides.
it sure would have been a little sticky when hitler stabilized europe and had time to send some missiles over the mountains and spent some real time securing the gold,
but maybe he would have seen just how we were on his side all along.

Communism certainly would not have been an issue.
Germany and Japan would have seen to that.
you know....
you just might be on to something here.

segregation would not have been an issue, cause we could be pragmatic and built some camps of our own.

this why you people are crazy.
running around thinking america could be Switzerland.

everybody in the f**k world wants to be Switzerland,
but not everyone in the world can rich , white and have 1500 years of financial and insurance experience.
get real

I read through this tread...
This is why our country is so deep in sh*t.... The misconceptions the lack of leadership and political contests that are becoming nothing more than popularity contests.
Obama should have never been elected PRESIDENT! He is not a leader! All you assholes that elected him because he won the popularity contest ,should hang your heads in SHAME. YOU ARE REALLY f**k UP THE ONE COUNTRY THAT CAN TRULY PROVIDE HOPE AND CHANGE for the rest of the world no matter how crazy THEY get. Take down the most LOVING ,CARING ,COUNTRY in THE WORLD,,,,, You might as well bring back hitler,or stallin ,or mao!!!!. MURDERERS!!!!

As far as all these GOP candidates.. NOT one is capable of steering this world out of troubles,,,, I said WORLD,,,, not just our country,,, and that includes Obama.

THANK GOD,,,, for God.

I believe your right Glen, the problem
is not Obama it's all those people who
voted for him. I'm afraid the problem is
going to get worse this election.

I would like to see ron paul make a commitment to remove all troops and bases from the Korean peninsula, withdraw the nuclear umbrella from south east Asia on 1st day in office.
as well as commit to no more government sponsored student loans.
he would vanish from the election the following day.

anyone can intimate that he wants out of Afghanistan everyone who ever went to Afghanistan wants out, going back to Alexander the great.

It's all about the money. Far too much was spent on an undeclared war that had no real benefit to our country. People are tired of their money being thrown away when the infrastructure in this country is crumbling. Obama was elected because of people's desire for change, and unless the Republicans can get it together quickly he will be reelected. We need to learn to mind our own business and make this country the priority.
