Imminent Glen. Your ignorance and lack of education undermine any valid point you might make.

Wrong in whose opinion? Yours? Your views on our political system are laughable. A president often has to do things that are unpopular on both sides of the aisle.

This does not mean impeachment. It means trying to do the right thing; it's the job the majority of Americans gave him.

Just because a few crackpots flys planes into buildings or shoot up the Pentagon does not a ground swell make.

PALIN-HATRED OBESSESSION MAKES JOURNLISTS INSANE:

ORIGINAL STORY:

Palin & Co. Raid Oscars Gift Suite

Sarah Palin aligns her public image with the heartland, but it appears the former Alaska Governor has gone Hollywood. And when she leaves, she may be taking some of it with her.

On top of an appearance on the Tonight Show and rumors that she's shopping around a TV show with reality producer Mark Burnett, Palin and her entourage were seen partaking in one of celebrity's lushest rituals -- the Oscar gifting suite.

While the group was loading up on freebies, the Los Angeles Times reported that, "Palin's middle child, Willow, got her hair styled, receiving a blowout from Erick Orellana of the Chris McMillan Salon (Jennifer Aniston's longtime hairstylist)."

The Times also indicated that Palin was supposed to donate $1,700 along with all of her gift items to the Red Cross, which is currently helping with relief efforts in Haiti and Chile.

But E! Online insists, "we can assure you she did not give up any of her swag." They quote an unnamed vendor who claims that upwards of 20 people from the Palin camp swarmed the event. "They were like locusts," he told the entertainment news outlet.

According to AOL's Pop Eater, publicist Ben Russo of EMC/Bowery said, "she kind of cleaned the place out." They list out a number of her swag-grabs, including United Hair Care products, jewels from Pascal Mouawad, Skagen watches and a whopping 40 pairs of AIAIAI earphones.

It didn't stop there. HollywoodLife.com reports that she also picked up a blue Kenya robe from designer Jenna Leigh, facewash and a pair of foam Bandal sandals.

Or, in common-sense language, Palin and her handlers, "practically cleaned out the suite."

Another unnamed source, from HollywoodLife.com, says that the former Vice Presidential candidate was intent on spreading all that wealth around her own circle. "She insisted every person in her huge entourage get something, and there were assistants, nannies, security - insanity!" The same source also said that security swept the venue and would not allow photos, which are often expected by companies to use as promotion in exchange for the free products.

THE LESS-REPORTED UPDATE:

Sarah Palin at that gifting suite: Grabby? Not so much

Oh no she didn't.

That's what Silver Spoon, the company that hosted a pre-Oscars gifting suite attended Wednesday by Sarah Palin, said Thursday about the former governor of Alaska.

As in, oh no, Palin and company didn't do all those "grabby 'n' whiny" things that were reported by an entertainment gossip site Wednesday evening and spread like wildfire online Thursday and into Friday.

"The stories currently circulating about Governor Palin’s attendance at our event are total fabrications," partner Melissa Lemer said in a statement from Silver Spoon. [Update: Lemer has confirmed to the Los Angeles Times that she issued the statement.]

"We would like an immediate retraction and an apology to The Silver Spoon, its vendors, and
especially to Governor Sarah Palin."

To paraphrase Lemer, who said she personally escorted Palin around the suite: Oh no she didn't demand vendors open early just for her, didn't scoop up 40 sets of headphones, didn't behave like "locusts."

Which is pretty much what this blog, the Ministry of Gossip, reported in the first place.

Just Jared posted a pic Thursday of Willow Palin with her mom, and the Associated Press mentioned the Fox News commentator's $1,700 Red Cross donation -- and what one vendor called her "great skin." The New York Post stayed calm on Friday as well. Palin supporters weren't pleased with the negative reports; non-fans didn't seem as bothered.

Said Lemer: "She never asked for anything but politely accepted the products. The governor and her family and guests were very gracious and respectful to everyone. We asked and the governor
happily agreed to take a photo with the American Red Cross staff and the staff of The Silver Spoon. The governor stayed for a total of about 35 minutes, thanked everyone, made an additional generous personal donation pledge to the Red Cross, and then departed."

The charitable focus of the gifting suite -- such events invite celebrities and media to spotlight luxury products and services -- was to benefit Red Cross efforts in Haiti and Chile.

Sarah's week -- which some have chastised as the equivalent of Levi Johnston's Hollywood presence -- also included a Tuesday appearance on Jay Leno's revamped "Tonight Show," which launched Monday. (Maybe Jay wanted to book the guest least likely to show up with David Letterman?)

Daughter Bristol Palin filmed a scene for ABC Family's "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" on Tuesday, and Sarah reportedly made some rounds pitching an Alaska docudrama with the help of "Survivor," "The Apprentice" and "Eco-Challenge" producer Mark Burnett.

Looks like it's spring break in Wasilla next week -- will the crew stay for the Oscars?

Do you see what I mean about the irrational hatred and lies spun as truth?

Palin does Jay Leno, and she is simultaneously making the rounds with a big TV Producer, to pitch a show about real life in Alaska. This puts her in L.A. - While there, she was INVITED to a gifting suite, where vendors give free swag to celebrities, hope for a picture with the celebrity to market their merch, and also have a table for an OPTIONAL opportunity to donate to a charity aligned with the vendor.

Palin accepts the invitation, knowing that the charity represented, benefits disaster relief for Haiti. Her daughter Bristol is with her, because Bristol filmed her part in a TV show dealing with teen pregnancy. Palin, has organized the schedule, so that all this stuff gets done in a single trip! (Leno appearance - TV Show pitch - Bristol's role being filmed)

She takes the gift bags with her.

This gets reported as her "gift grabbing" and "trying to rub elbows with the Hollywood people, she supposedly detests, but is now trying to become!"

Her personal donation to the Red Cross for Haiti relief efforts, is NOT reported at first.

This trashy made-up story then goes VIRAL over several days, and is picked up by news agencies, major blogs, and every conceivable media outlet possible. The comments against the "hillbilly gift grabber" and "hypocrite" are incendiary to say the least!

The owners of Silver Spoons, the vendor for the gift suite, gets word of what was reported about Palin's visit there, and they send the LA Times, which started much of this nonsense, a DEMAND for a notice of retraction as well as an apology to them, their vendors and Palin. Their message states that the inflammatory accusations were UNTRUE, and they give a detailed statement of what really occurred.

Only a few of these news agencies update their stories or print retractions. Even the ones that update their stories, do so in a few small paragraphs and leave the original stories up on their sites!

The rabid commenters to these blogs, see the updates, and yet still blast Palin for taking the gifts out of the location, not seeming to realize, that Palin had given back ALL of the merch to the vendors.

Why did she take it, then give it back?

Because, it was the plan to begin with!

She told the vendor that she would politely receive their gifts, but would give them back to be auctioned off for charity. When she takes them with her, they INCREASE IN VALUE so the objects get higher prices for auction.

Many, if not MOST, celebrities just KEEP their gifts. The few that return them for auctioning, do EXACTLY as Sarah Palin did... they bring them home, so that their value increases, then return them to be auctioned for charity.

But Palin gets CRUCIFIED when she makes such a gesture.

At the end of the day, Palin ended up getting her and Bristol's hair done for free, and tried on some make up.

What did Palin exchange for the supposedly... "shameless" and "lavish" extravagance, she received?

She will have made alot of money for the charity, as well as donated $1700 dollars out of her own pocket for relief efforts in Haiti. She also created tremendous publicity for the vendors, and despite the lies the media originally told, she "graciously" DID take photos with the staff of Silver Spoons, and their vendors, as well as accepted a request to autograph T-Shirts for the employees there.

And you wonder why I say things will change before long for her?

Karma alone, dictates that someone cannot endure such hate-filled blatant lies and personal assaults, while keeping a good character about it all, without it all flooding back to you, in positive results and reformed opinions of you really are as a person!

Jimmy you make a great Palin basher, and you are very good at becoming insulting instead of rational. People like you try to strike anyway you can to avoid the facts.Your lack of courage shows when you resort to the same type of media insults you hurl.
I am not going to lower myself to your method of attacks.

Don't dance around the fact that this president is going to attempt to ram this issue down our throats.

Don't dance around the fact that most Americans are having some real second thoughts about healthcare and or at least want to slow this down to a point were rational thought can enter. [including senators from both sides]

At least Craig goes way out of his way to explain his positions. I sincerely doubt that he would just go off calling someone a stupid moron, idiot asshole ,waste of life ,dickhead, etc etc etc,,,,,Without being able to explain his position.

I really don't think you can,so don't bother.

Craig, the backlash Palin gets is just a case of karma, imo. She's been blowing Obama's actions out of proportion & lying outright on her own to push her agendas, & when it happens to her you & the other Palinists cry foul.

I'm not concerned about how poorly this hate-monger, this fear-monger, this hypocrite is treated by the press. She has surely gotten plenty of air time to spout her lies. Give her opposition a chance to lie, too. LOL

You are truly dillusional. I never called anyone any names, but if the shoe fits, wear it Glenny. Next time read what I wrote. You need to get some therapy before it's too late, I'm really worried about you.

Seriously - do you really take all of this crap seriously?

The whole world is going crazy with the picking of invisible nits lately.

The only one I DON'T see doing this stuff is Obama. His supporters sure do, don't they? So does his opposition.

I'm tired of all these distractions, & sweet Sarah is trying her very best to be one of the worst, &, while bewailing the media's attention to her, she basks in the limelight every chance she gets.

It's like a constant barrage of nanny-nanny-boo-boo's in the "news" anymore, & I truly believe it's all just designed to force us to continue in the ways we've been headed for quite some time - toward the destruction of the middle class & small business by gov't intervention & unfair market practices of the super corp's. As long as they keep the spotlight on this sort of shenanigans, nothing can be done, & nothing need be done, cuz we're all watching "As America Turns Sour" on the nightly news, & arguing amongst ourselves.

Every comedian I see is either STILL blasting GWB, or laughing at Palin, or taking pot-shots at somebody in the news. I thik comedians really love Obama, but I don't know why, cuz he hasn't really been able to accomplish that much, what with all these stupid distractions.

Glen gripes about him holding Congress hostage...LOL...every pres I can think of has had to do that once or twice while in office.

We need leaders who try to bring us together to work toward a common goal. Let the media distract you at our peril. Let them rile you up over trivia at our peril.

One thing's for sure - Wash is once again blocked up, & a good political enema is gonna be called for if things don't start happening, & SOON. Then, of course, after we buy into the replacements' promises, we'll be right back in this soup again, & nothing will change...AGAIN.

Do you really think the corporately-owned media has any interest in getting things rolling? Look at the sponsors of your news - pharmaceutical co's, investment firms, banks, insurance co's, superstores, car manufacturers, gas & power co's - which of these will benefit if a health care bill gets passed? How many of them might be hurt by it? How many would benefit from total withdrawal from Iraq?

Pick a problem...what co will benefit from its solution? Now, who bought your Senator? Your Congressman? Your pres? Your gov? What interest do any of these donors (owners) have in the betterment of the American lifestyle?

From what I'm seeing, the Dems are once again at odds, even with themselves, & have no common goals. They're all so scared to DO anything that they simply DON'T. The Reps are not working in the interest of the average Joe, & rarely ever have. Thus, we HAVE no representation in our gov't, & neither party has anything that we need as a nation - no ideas, no leadership, no one working for you & me.

And you wanna play right into thier hands - "Oooh! They said something bad that isn't true about so-&-so!" BFD. Don't let them distract you. Instead, watch to see who's actually trying to work for you, & who's blowing smoke up your ass while catering to the corp agenda.

What's being DONE? Who's DOING it? Who's BLOCKING it?

THESE are the questions we need to keep in mind through all of this fluffery.

I don't think TRIPLING the national debt, taking over major businesses, taking over banks, breaking MOST of his campaign promises, effectively surrendering our lead in Space, giving terrorists rights equal to American citizens, trying to force green-taxes on businesses, and eroding our freedoms, are "nanny-nanny-boo-boo's"!!!!

These are HUGELY significant issues!

He is FUNDAMENTALLY altering our nation, and not in good ways!

While I don't agree with many of them, I think the banks being taken over is prolly a very good thing, in the short run. Ditto for the car co's. Run the a-holes out on a rail, & force the co to draw someone with character & sense from thier ranks to run things. I've certainly had enough hearing about the bonuses & such for the thieves that are in there now.

His debt isn't as surprizing to me as GWB's was, after we'd had a surplus, but whatchagonna do?

Still, I dunno why Palin would be making such a big deal out of his teleprompter use, if she was that concerned about these issues. I guess she just doesn't get it, eh? Prefers to talk about the insignificant, cuz she couldn't do any better?

It's easy for us all to be critics, here, Craig.

I don't like what I'm seeing. Not at all. From anyone in American politics today, whether they're in office or not.

Cable networks eye Sarah Palin reality show
James Hibberd
Fri Mar 19, 2010

LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Sarah Palin is closer to landing a deal for a reality show.

Sources say A&E Networks and Discovery Communications want to acquire Palin's project, which focuses on the ex-governor giving a guided tour of her native Alaska -- visiting fishing boats and taking a trip to a gold mine, to cite a couple of examples. Mark Burnett is executive producer of the project, whose working title is "Sarah Palin's Alaska."

A&E Networks hasn't officially put in a bid for the show, but sources indicate that the company is interested in the project for several of its brands -- A&E, History or Lifetime.

Discovery Communications is likewise vying for the project for one or more of its outlets, such as TLC. Some sources say the flagship Discovery Channel is no longer in play, while others say otherwise.

The former vice presidential candidate is asking for between $1 million and $1.5 million per episode, a hefty amount for a first-year cable series.

Palin initially pitched the show to broadcast networks. Given the show's laid-back nature theme and lack of high-stakes drama that tends to typify broadcast reality hits, industry executives see cable as a better fit.

A&E is the home of bold reality fare like "Intervention" and "Dog the Bounty Hunter," while Discovery has compatible outdoors series, such as Alaska-set "Deadliest Catch."

"It will sell," predicts one insider. "One way or another."

A&E and Discovery had no comment.

Sexism you say?

Yeah, sexism.

Mocking someone for laughs is one thing. Ross Perot was a prime target for such jokes, being a short napoleanic figure with his high pitched country drawl, and classic lines like "A giant sucking sound!" referring to jobs going south of the border.

But you didn't hear HATRED in the jokes. You didn't see vicious personal assaults against his FAMILY. And that is especially harsh against Palin, when even her child with Down Syndrome is not off limits from the literally EVIL attacks and dark jokes. Palin was governor, and her husband is, by all accounts a smart enough person himself, who willingly became more of a stay at home dad, while Palin ran their state. She should be lauded by feminists everywhere. Their family is a perfect example, of a do it all, and handle it well, working woman who is also a mother. Add the special needs child into the mix, and Palin is a model of accomplishments, determination and a truly modern woman, who can stand shoulder to shoulder with powerful men, and not sacrifice being a caring and attentive mother.

But instead she is VILIFIED.

Instead, her family and even her down syndrome child are CRUCIFIED, and even in the supposedly professional mainstream press.

What on earth, has she done to deserve any of it?

gtZip wrote:Just where does your obsession with that woman come from Craig?
Why are you so fascinated by her?

I am enamored of her, because of all of the above comments, as well as the facts, that she was encouraged by her local community to run for city council in the first place. Her community needed her, and she answered the call. She rose to meet and succeed in EVERY challenge she faced. She ran her state FOR THE PEOPLE'S interest, and even lodged ethics charges against HER OWN PARTY ELITE who were operating like the typical "good ole boys" club, and giving away bad government contracts to their friends and allies. She changed all that in Alaska, and I think she would change what she could in Washington D.C. too!

She was a mom.

She was almost thrust into politics. Her intelligence and personal character and work ethic, allowed her to be VERY successful, improve the economy and infrastructure of her constituents, and she did it for 14 YEARS, all the way up the ladder to the Governor's office.

She should be ESTEEMED for these accomplishments, particularly not being from an Ivy League school, with all the backing of the rich and powerful, and being an "outside the beltway" common American, who has accomplished great things, ON HER OWN MERIT ALONE!

The biggest thing however, in making me pay attention to her, is that God raised her to national prominence, and He has let me know that she figures prominently, in future events to come. Call me wacky, I don't care. I believe God when He speaks to me. So does she. It may scare some people, when she has let it slip, that she is in God's will, trying to obey His will, but not me. God has confirmed for me, that she is doing just that. She is going to be vitally important to our national security one day... probably as President.

Looking at the current climate against her, I realize how absurd that sounds. But God has a history of choosing the most unlikely of leaders, to accomplish important things for humanity.

There are hundreds, even thousands of David and Goliath stories in God's providence. It is a SIGN of God. That He uses the weak to defeat the strong. The Bible is replete with such instances, and so is human history itself.

David and Goliath.

Martin Luther King and Ghandi, who defeated police and military might, through what? Non violence. How does not being violent, defeat those who ARE violent? Jesus changes the world by willingly dying on a cross, though He had all the power to defeat the forces aligned against Him if He had chosen, in a single instance.

The world is about to face it's darkest days EVER.

You will see MORE Palins in the coming years, being lifted up, seemingly out of nowhere, from the unlikliest of circumstances. An army if you will. A group of simple, yet powerful BELIEVERS, who HEAR GOD, and are not afraid to LISTEN and obey. These figures will appeal to decency and love, and cooperation, in the midst of the most trying times humanity has ever faced.

Palin is hated not for being a woman, but for being a DUMB woman. Her kid got knocked up, so it sends the message to people that she's a bad parent. She's made numerous bloopers while opening her mouth, which makes people believe she's stupid and uninformed, and she's got some pretty bad ideas (Well, I guess you could say that for most conservatives, heh.).

What evidence is there, for her being "dumb"?

So, the evidence of being a "good" parent, would be flawlessly perfect children who never make mistakes? I've lived in a dozen states or more, and I haven't seen any kids like that.

Cretindilettante wrote:She's made numerous bloopers while opening her mouth, which makes people believe she's stupid and uninformed,

Tell you what... Give me her Top-5 Bloopers (should be a piece of cake, right?) that she has said when "opening her mouth" and I will give you President Obama's and Vice President Biden's Top-5, and let's compare them. If theirs are worse than hers, then by your reasoning, we would have to conclude that Palin is more intelligent than either of the other two. Or at the least, they are equally stupid and uninformed.

What are her (Conservatives) top 3 bad ideas?
