Hey, Mary. If you're running Windows (which most people are) go here:

Download Audacity for free, and you'll also need to download LAME mp3 encoder (on the same page)
When you get these installed, you should be able to open audacity and open a file from the CD (it'll be in .wav format). Once you open it in Audacity, go to file/export. A box will open up for putting more info in but you can just click on "yes" or "ok" (can't remember which) and it'll take you to the next step of saving the file. There is a drop down box for type of file. Choose mp3 and name your file (song name) at the top of the box and click OK. Another box may appear that says "quality" and the slider is set for around 84%. I always slide it to 100% just for good measure. This will compress the file to 1/10th of the size and you should be able to post that mp3 on here.
