If then that is the case then why so much waffle on it? 361 replies that mean nothing, 4444 views that take up server space and mislead anyone who has the mind to read it because no one REALLY knows anything.
On the nail. we'll find out when we get there. Probably the best quote this thread has received since 03 Sep 2009 @ 04:32 am.
Heck we've even got a sermon being based on it. I'm starting to think I have every musical chance, and I really do mean that, you can quote me ok.neanderpaul wrote:My opinion means nothing neither does anyone else's.
neanderpaul wrote:Chippy the point was that nobody's opinion matters. What does matter is what the bible says.
What the bible says is what matters to people that believe in the bible. That's really what you meant, isn't it Paul?... I don't believe that you would lay a blanket statement out like that knowing there are other people on this forum who don't believe in your faith. You've proven to be cool by me, like George, and I respect your faith in Jesus and the bible. There are a lot of really good lessons to be learned in the bible. Be careful not to disrespect others that do not believe what you believe though.
I posted before that it is useless to argue a belief because it is what it is -- A BELIEF!!
Read Matthew 7,1-6:
1Judge not, that ye be not judged.
2For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.
3And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?
4Or how wilt thou say to thy brother, Let me pull out the mote out of thine eye; and, behold, a beam is in thine own eye?
5Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out of thine own eye; and then shalt thou see clearly to cast out the mote out of thy brother's eye.
6Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.
This is one of those good life lessons that the bible is full of, but may not be significant spiritually. If not believing the bible makes me a dog or a pig, so be it. At least I'm loyal to the people that I care about, and I'm fed well.
No one really knows what lies ahead for us in the afterlife, if anything is going to be there at all. I agree with what you wrote in the quote Chippy -- all this debate, time spent, effort in proving everyone wrong, etc, is all for nothing. As Chip has written in the past, "bollocks" to this whole thread.
I haven't heard back from anyone who has died... No dead people have come and shared the truth of the universe and divinity with me... No spectors or spirits have magically appeared to tell me what is on the "other side"... Not even Jesus...
Believe what you want, and I'll believe what I want. I'm finished with this thread.
