Wow, I didn't recognize and Jimmy Page licks or Paul Rogers vocal. Was this made before or after "RadioActive"?

Seriously though,
Here's some REAL space metal, (possibly my favorite)

Sounds about right to me. There's alot of hardcore sound out there waiting for someone to use it. And its not all distortion.
Space metal has been around for ages, think Hawkwind...

This is what happens when you turn a handful of hippies loose with a couple of synthesizers, a wall of Marshalls and a few hits of good acid...While you're there check out Space Is Deep, Assassins of Allah and some of the others. Just drop Hawkwind in to the search bar and off you go.
Don't forget your towel...
Lemmy, from Motorhead, was with Hawkwind at one time, and they originally recorded the song "Motorhead" apparently his theme song...interesting wiki

A friend many years ago turned me on to Hawkwind when they were a new band, even before Lemmy joined up. We would listen to their stuff sometimes at our "Jungle Juice" parties...everything you can think of poured into a [new] garbage can with a liner in it...wine, whiskey, gin, vodka, grape juice, occasionally some beer...then someone would turn up with a handful of left handed ones and maybe a few hits of mescaline...I'm surprised I remember Hawkwind at all come to think of it.
some of the other stuff we were into...
Atlanta Rhythm Section - Third Annual Pipe Dream
Mahogany Rush - Strange Universe
Mott The Hoople - Live (can't remember the proper title)
Beatles - everything from Sgt Peppers on through the white album.. Magical Mystery Tour was my favorite.
Harry Nillsson - The Point
Bad Company - Bad Company
Aerosmith - Toys in the Attic
Southerland Brothers and Quiver - Dream Kid
Ted Nugent and the Amboy Dukes - the one with Journey to the Center of Your Mind on it
REO Speedwagon - REO II
Rory Gallagher - a couple of them, including a live album
Johnny Winter And - Live
Edgar Winter Group -They Only Come Out at Night
Edgar Winter's White Trash - I think that was also the album name, as well as the live one Roadwork.
That's just a few of them, there were plenty more. Always the entire album, singles were considered blasphemy.

Dang, Pete. We shoulda crossed paths in our youth. I grew up in Byhalia, MS. just outside of Memphis. That "Jungle Juice" party reminds me of some old times. We used to party all weekend at a friend's who had a bar in his trailer. Everybody would bring all kinds of stuff to stock the bar. We had a drink called the "Sunday Morning". On Sunday morning, we'd get up and mix a little of everything that was left over, whiskey, gin, tequila, schnapps, beer and whatever, and down it for hangover relief.
