I DID NOT mean you Craig, just rock and rollers in general. Many choose to ignore problems; the first song I ever wrote was about apartheid.

Again, I meant no disrespect towards our soldiers, I'm really pissed at our "leaders". Peace!

I know you meant no disrespect. But I think it could easily be taken that way. Music is powerful brother. I only encourage you to use it wisely. I'm pissed at our leaders too. Politicians are a matter of "lesser of evils" unfortunately.

Apartheid? That's awesome! This is the kind of area where liberals get it right. There are many other instances as well, where I see liberals tackling issues that are, in my mind, correct, and others shy away from.

But I find that ultra-conservatives would lead us to theocracy, and ultra-liberals would lead us to socialism.

Extermes generally lead to horrible consequences.

Sweet! I'm really happy with what I wrote. I hope I pull it off in the studio like I've been singing it at home.

Hey Craig, I went out last night and saw the band Streetlight Manifesto, and while there a guy bummed a cigarette from me, explaining that he was a marine home on leave from his second deployment to Iraq and was short on cash. I bought him a beer and we talked about the war, morale, and other subjects. He's excited to go back for the third time to "finish the job".

On a related note, the singer I'm considering have do the vocals on my recordings is a former marine and he loved the "Iraq and a Hard Place" lyrics.

Strange how everything works out.

Yes, I agree, but I was happy to help. The bartender also bought him a shot of Jack.

Well, thanks for sharing that. And yes, many military persons can go either way on this, even those that believe in finishing the job, take some comfort in being, shall we say "sacreligious" about it. LOL

I heard a soldier call into a radio station to request System Of A Down's B.Y.O.B.

He was also heading back to Iraq, and the DJ pointed out the anomaly, but the soldier said he just thought the song was badass, but didn't necessarily agree with all the lyrics.

The song is pretty badass. LOL

Enjoy...

WHY DO THEY ALWAYS SEND THE POOR!

Barbarisms by Barbaras
With pointed heels.
Victorious, victories kneel.
For brand new spankin' deals.
Marching forward hypocritic
And hypnotic computers.
You depend on our protection,

Yet you feed us lies from the table cloth.
La la la la la la la la la,
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.

Kneeling roses disappearing,
Into Moses’ dry mouth,
Breaking into Fort Knox,
Stealing our intentions,
Hangars sitting dripped in oil,
Crying FREEDOM!

Handed to obsoletion,
Still you feed us lies from the table cloth.
La la la la la la la la la,
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.

Blast off, it's party time,
And we don't live in a fascist nation,
Blast off, it's party time,
And where the f**k are you?
Where the f**k are you?
Where the f**k are you?

Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor? [X4]

Kneeling roses disappearing,
Into Moses’ dry mouth,
Breaking into Fort Knox,
Stealing our intentions,
Hangars sitting dripped in oil,
Crying FREEDOM!

Handed to obsoletion,
Still you feed us lies from the tablecloth.
La la la la la la la la la,
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine.
Everybody’s going to the party have a real good time.
Dancing in the desert blowing up the sunshine

Where the f**k are you!
Where the f**k are you!

Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor?
Why don’t presidents fight the war?
Why do they always send the poor? [X3]
Why, do, they always send the poor [X3]
They only send the poor [x2]

Where do they get this missconception that only the poor uneducated join the military? Its Bullshit. Many young men and women with BS and MS degrees from wealthy families join the military. Socalist Bullshit rides the big lie again. I know personally of Nurses and Doctors who have joined up. Or just came out. I tried four times myself, they tell me I am too old. Bullshit. I know of one young man a good friend with an engeneering degree. Joined the Marines to go right up front SF. Why do "they" enjoy the benfit of what they are afraid to defend. Cowards.

Damn right brother!

btw...

There is a pretty good sized "Support the Troops and Honor the Fallen" festival being planned here in Georgia, complete with an Air Force flyover. The event founder, actually heard us sing "American Soldier" live, last week, and he's in love with the song, and our whole band, and has asked us to perform that song, along with "Coming Home" for this event.

Our booking agent, has also contacted a professional video company in Iraq, which travels with the soldiers, and they have requested that we send a demo of the song, and they will film soldiers on Humvees, lip-syncing the lyrics to our song, for use in making it into a music video. We're playing a couple substantial outdoor music festivals coming up, and we hope to get good film of us playing the song live, and intersperse it with the soldier's lip syncing the lyrics.

We just wrote the song to honor and pump-up the troops, but this is pretty exciting fall-out.

Our first video however, is going to be "Taylor's Song", if you remember, that is the song that we wrote for a 6 year-old girl who recently died of brain cancer. Sadly, we later sang the song at her funeral. But her parents are organizing a foundation in her honor, to help children with cancer, and "Taylor's Song" is being filmed at the end of May, with the cooperation of a local children's hospital, using kids with cancer in the video as well, to help promote and kick off this new foundation.

So, we have two music videos on the drawing board right now, and both were just labors of love, but it appears, they may both end up blessing the band as well. Success born out of love and sacrifice is the best kind!

The vids and festival sounds really cool my man. It is rare that when you give of yourself that there is no return in kind. Could be a wild ride boys!
Best wishes for you and the band.
