My, my... Dunno where all this vitriol is coming from, but I don't see anything in my comments anywhere that could be described as claiming to "have the market cornered on the in's and out's of making connections....." or "bragging," "claims to fame....or advice about how and when to spend your musical time." Nor did I ever claim anyone was "stupid." What I did claim is that a pic tells me absolutely nothing about a person's (or band's) musical ability, and most folks apparently agree w/ that. All I really care about is how someone
sounds. I get that some folks are more focused on looks--or might pass on someone who sounds good, but doesn't have the right look--but while I might be crazy, I'd rather sound good and look bad than sound bad and look good. That's why I spend my time in the practice room, studio, etc... What others do is their own business. If there is some way to determine a person's musical ability based on a pic, that could be some useful info. But I'd still prefer a sound clip.
I do know of the folks who have contacted me, no one has ever asked for a pic. It could be that after meeting me, they decided I didn't have the right look (who knows?), but there's not much I can do about how I look. In contrast, there's a lot I can do about how I sound, so that's where I expend my effort. Imagine what it would be like if everyone had to submit a photo of themselves along w/ a job application, resume or CV. I wonder how many potentially good employees would be passed over just because they don't have the right
look. Savvy employers are more concerned w/ the ability to do a job. As it should be.

Sure sounds like the OP is saying that if you don't have the time to take/post pics of yourself, you have no business being a musician--that taking/posting pics of yourself is the primary function. O...K. I still challenge that logic. Even if I were some big-time musician (which I'm not) and had a platinum album out (which I don't), I'd still be working on the sound. Pretty much every musician I know is the same way. Heck, I've never taken a selfie and don't even own a cell phone (no need). While that might be seen as aberrant, I still don't see how you can tell anything 'bout musical ability from a photo. Seems like the time might be better spent recording/posting sound clips.
So go ahead and "SKIP right over those" profiles that don't have pics, but before you malign me for any imagined offenses, might be good to go back and read what I actually did say; you haven't been around here long enough to be making any proclamations about who I am or what I'm about. But in reference to this thread, since the point was apparently missed, I'll repeat it:
