Nice. My drummer uses something like that. Gets good separation between half stacks and the drum set. He sets it on the table next to him. I can't use any of that stuff.

i absolutely love my DR-05 and use it to record practices and gigs w great results. also great as a handy "scratchpad" to capture ideas. best of all, it's super easy to use...schmed if you can operate a cassette deck you'd have no trouble getting along w one.

it's just an amazing and totally affordable tool.

welcome to Bandmix, Jookeyman. funny you mentioning a gypsy jazz version as that's one of the ways i've been messing around w those changes! now, a Piedmont Blues take on it was NOT something i'd considered before and would love to hear what you come up with.
