Let's talk poison gas:

We attacked Sadaam because he had nasty weapons including poison gas and biologicals.

Nobody ever asks, where did he get them?

He got them from us. FedGov was feeding him that sh*t to fight our proxy war with Iran. Both Iran and Iraq used missiles and gas in that one.

Syria got it's stuff from Russia originally but now manufactures it. And they were our great allies, committing a full armoured division to the first Gulf War on our side. But we hate them now because...well...because, dammit!

So in Syria the Al Queda types (called 'freedom fighters' by our state department) have poison gas - they got it from Obama's pals in Libya and possibly Iraq's hidden stocks. They hate Jews and Christians. They are very bad men.

Assad has poison gas as well. And he is the middle eastern version of a communist tyrant. He is a very bad man. Although he was an ally who supported us in a war and who allows Christians to worship as they please.
(unlike the freaks FedGov says we should support)

Gee - who should we root for?

Ah what the hell? We've wiped out Christianity in Iraq and Egypt, why not finish the job in Syria too?

Mike, If you are saying that Russia has been supplying CHEMICAL weapons... I would have to disagree. Chemical weapons under international laws are totally banned. I believe even our country has abandoned this horrible weapon.

That only leaves one open passage of WMD. The legacy of saddam hussein. Not worthy of capitalization.

He DID have WMD. They were passed on to the Syrian government.

Should I go on? 20 + years of lies from the whole world and it is still going to be buried.

During the lead-up to war in March 2003, United Nations weapons inspector Hans Blix had found no stockpiles of WMD and had made significant progress toward resolving open issues of disarmament noting "proactive" but not always the "immediate" Iraqi cooperation as called for by UN Security Council Resolution 1441. He concluded that it would take “but months” to resolve the key remaining disarmament tasks.[4] The United States asserted this was a breach of Resolution 1441 but failed to convince the UN Security Council to pass a new resolution authorizing the use of force due to lack of evidence.[5][6][7] Despite being unable to get a new resolution authorizing force and citing section 3 of the Joint Resolution passed by the U.S. Congress,[8] President George W. Bush asserted peaceful measures could not disarm Iraq of the weapons he alleged it to have and launched a second Gulf War,[9] despite multiple dissenting opinions[10] and questions of integrity[11][12][13] about the underlying intelligence.[14] Later U.S.-led inspections agreed that Iraq had earlier abandoned its WMD programs, but asserted Iraq had an intention to pursue those programs if UN sanctions were ever lifted.[15] Bush later said that the biggest regret of his presidency was "the intelligence failure" in Iraq,[16]

You're not hearing me Glen - AMERICA gave gas and at least four types of bio weapons to Sadaam in the eighties. (including Anthrax).

If you think Russia and USA didn't have gas then you must be smoking some good sh*t. Syria now has 59 sites with that nasty stuff - recall that Syria and Iraq were both client states of the USSR originally - but Iran was a client state of USA.

Then things changed.

Iran became bad guys (from our perspective) and Iraq become good guys (from our perspective). So while Iranian Chieftain tanks (made in UK) and Tomcat F-14 air superiority fighters (made in USA) were hitting Iraq they were hitting back with poison gas and scud missiles - the latter a gift from Ivan, the former a gift from Sam.

It's so depressing, I wrote a satirical piece just before we launched that war of aggression against Iraq http://www.lewrockwell.com/peirce/peirce59.html
and to my horror - numerous readers took it seriously despite the disclaimer at the end. A public school teacher actually wrote and said he used it to explain the war to his class. I weep for this country, this people with no memory beyond the last propaganda release from DC / NY / LA.

So many mistakes... So little time...

Clint Eastwood, in THE UN FORGIVEN... What do you do when you kill a man?

Answer... "Then you live with it"

The bottom line was the UN sanctioned it. Congress sanctioned it. President Bush sanctioned it.

My question is why did we do it twice. What next? North Korea?

I'm not going tit for tat on this Kramer. Wikipedia is not the end all in search of the truth.

Scott actually has a pretty realistic grasp of the truth.

Ah don't say that, JCP will surely go and shoot himself or attempt self-inflicted brain surgery. (if he hasn't already)

Then he and Crunchy can play checkers and no one will actually ever win. LOL (The match will still take all day, tho)

"I got my hands in the air, don't shoot braveheart". (or say anything anti-Semitic either..cause you hate on the game, not the players.)

PS: Mel Gibson you are an awful actor and a bad human.

I'm not sure I have any other point than we as a country have been caught with our pants down over and over. There's lots of pesky details in facts,. and yeah, wiki doesn't know what it doesn't know, but the point of it was to show you that it's common knowledge that the things on wiki did in fact happen, and in that manner. You see, what makes wiki great is that it's peer-reviewed, making it FAR MORE reliable as a source of fact that any "news" site you can find. Peer reviews are awesome at removing opinion and hysteria from fact and presenting the facts, good or bad, without bias or question. If there's a dispute, it's well documented as disputed, or corrected.

You point about eastwoods character in that movie means what exactly?

Our leaders kill over a million people in an illegal war, and our only reaction as a people is that "well, he just gotta move on, cause he's gotta live with himself now"...?? That's helpful. Maybe we should just treat all crime like that and just close all prisons. Surely, those who committed those crimes will just move on, and maybe be remorseful someday.

I guess society should have nixxed the Nuremberg trials and just gave all the nazi's a hall pass too, eh? I mean hey, what's done is done.

Why did we do it twice? We should be asking why we did it at all. Follow the money. Plenty got filthy rich, and still do. It needs to end.

The point is sadly simple... People die when people make mistakes...

The point about Eastwood was just to point out what you do when you make a mistake.

If you wish to glean all your insight from limited sources,so be it.

I am fascinated at the way you went so far off of point to get to the Nuremberg trials. You twisted this all around in favor of my point, and you don't even recognize it.

You are just looking for a fight!

Sorry dude.
