Dang! Paperdog is showing SO much hate right now. At least I finally found someone who was nice enough to listen to me and not get easily agitated like you.

Maybe I don't get out much but it seems like there hasn't been anything "new" catch fire in quite some time. No British Invasion, no metal revolution, no disco, no punk, no alternative, no rap, etc. Are we done creating something "new?" Are there so many genres to choose from that a new fad that nearly everybody likes is now an impossibility?

Their might be something awesome out there, but extremely hard to hear. Cyberspace and lack of artist development has clouded things up. Its gonna be hard for any non-commercial band to get through.

Aside from that...I've seen nothing but modern horse-dung...if thats new. Damn, I sound like a bitter sh*t...but its true.

Seriously dude, you're getting played... and its embarrassing. You aren't a hero young man, not today. If you ever want to know the reason why I'm 1000 percent sure of that, you'll have to ask me directly ... BTW Where did you go to school, I am curious.

Precocious intellectual peace making hippy? You really are too kind... I'd say I'm just a smartass who spends too much time reading Wikipedia and feeding trolls, but then again I suppose it's mostly the same thing, innit.

I prolly should qualify...Its not a bad thing to be a peace-making hippy...In fact, its quite admirable... I really meant it as a compliment... But I was just saying, I see you going to work on cliff here, no doubt with the kindest of intentions... and i laugh, because you may as well be lobbing a basket ball at a moving hoop , that slides across the edge of a Cliff. (Pun Intended)

So, If I barged in on your process, I really did it to...barge in on your process...

No offense taken. I found it entertaining more than anything. :)

What process? I'm not "going to work" on Cliff; I just want to hear what he has to say.

I saw that earlier. What are your credentials to make that evaluation?

To embellish, I made no evaluation here..Think of it more like an educated guess....,The information about it is not exclusive to professionals counselors.., In fact, its Junior year Psychology...Which I minored in, along with Philosophy, when I went to college. I posted it..you/others can decide for yourselves. One thing is indisputable though, and that is that the said person needs the help.

As a former Drug and Alcohol Abuse Counselor in the Navy, I was taught to identify and parse out anomalous conditions with regard to individuals in the program (By far, superior methods in some respects to civilian methods, since profit doesn't drive the Navy programs)

There are two other conditions I believe exist in this scenario, which are debatable, and I wont even touch... But the OCPD definitely fits the prose I have been reading.

Even So, I confess...I could be wrong... But I decided to risk my reputation in this instance, cause I felt that sure ;)

Oh, be nice Scott. Cliffy is just searching for a new snuggle buddy. His requirements for a musical friend are way to stringent for most normal people. Just having to be a Adam Lambert fan is asking to much. That alone scares me!

Maybe I'm getting old (well, no maybe about it) but...

Seems like things are more on the "pop" side of things these days-- Hip Hop, Rap, even Rock (look at Foo Fighters and Cold Play)

As somebody mentioned above there is some new stuff in the "club style" of music -- e.g. Dubstep.

Most of the stuff that hits has a real "pop" and dance vibe to it -- even R&B stuff, even Rock (Maroon 5 latest song-- if you want to call it rock). Adelle is all over the place.

As for any new real genre of music (e.g. Grunge) -- I don't see it. For that matter has there really been a new genre of rock since Grunge?

In another trend Vinyl has been making a comeback for several years now.
